How long are passport applications taking right now?

Has anyone put in a UK passport application recently? How long are they taking. I’m travelling in 3 weeks and don’t know whether to fast track but I don’t live near London (or another passport office)

My son applied for his first passport and it took 2 weeks. Had his online interview Monday and it arrived yesterday....i was very impressed with the quick service. He's not travelling till May though.....

There was a thread about a week ago. Renewals were taking about 5 days.

I just renewed a child's passport and we did the application on Sunday 1st Feb, sent the old one back on the 2nd Feb and we received the new one Wed 11th Feb. Not sure if I'd want my holiday to depend on the same timings though...

Very quick, from when you send the old one in literally are days. So do it online, send old one immediately using v quick service

I know you said you don’t live near a passport office - I guess a lot of people don’t.
is it possible for you to travel to one? I just did a same day emergency appointment. Lots of options and the process itself ran like clockwork.

Both adult DS and I have renewed recently. 4 working days. Just make sure that you return your current passport as quickly as you can for cancellation as they won’t issue the new one until the receive the old. It takes longer for a first issue.

Mine took 5 business days. Didn’t pay for the quick service.

8 days for DS two weeks ago. Did the photo at home.

We applied on Sunday and our new passports arrived today. We used the regular £94 service. Very impressed with the quick turnaround.

5 days standard service. I got one in December

Did it online and got it back a week later. Really quick atm as long as it's straightforward.

About a week. But I wouldn’t risk paying for the standard service unless your travel costs are refundable.

DH’s new passport took about a week last month

Applied Monday last week and it arrived on Tuesday, i.e 8 days later. Updates throughout.

It's a really good service now, though I imagine it'll take longer in summer

I applied last Thursday, sent my old passport by special delivery. It arrived Friday morning, but it wasn't updated on the passport tracking site until Tuesday. It has remained on "we've received your old passport" since then.

Mine went to Corby, so perhaps they're slower?

I had to change my last name, so applied online last Thursday and had a text yesterday to say my passport would be delivered today (standard service)

Mine took 7 working day from posting old passport to receiving new one

3 renewals, all posted to different passport office sites, all done online and back in less than a week.

I live in Europe and sent my passport to be renewed just before Christmas, the new one arrived about a week later. Most of that was post/dhl the application was dealt with in just over 24 hours

Renewal, online application, put the old passport in the postbox Saturday 31st Jan in the morning and new passport was delivered Friday 6th Feb. That was the standard service

My daughter applied for hers about three weeks ago and the new one arrived in six days, I think.

Ours have expired, does anyone know if we can still do it online?
