How many hours do you usually sleep at night?

Morning all.

Is it normal that as you get older, you get less sleep or have sleepless nights?
I go to bed around 11ish, but for the last few days, I've been waking up multiple times during the night. I can't go to bed early, or I will be tossing and turning.. I'm not sure if I should take anything.

Hi. Where do you buy valerian? Do you buy it from Holland & Barrett or online?
Thanks.

You can buy it anywhere. I think the last ones I got at Boots. You can buy Valerian (unbranded) or it also sells as Kalms Night.

I'm perimenopausal too. Oh and an autoimmune disease. Not good..
I'm thinking about going to a pharmacy for sleeping meds, but I'm worried about the side effects.

I occasionally use sleeping tablets, they're brilliant and never had any side effects

I sleep generally well, sleep at about 11. In an ideal world I wake up with my alarm at 7.20 with one night wake up for a wee. Sometimes I wake up at 5.30l6am and can't get back to sleep. That would be fine if I felt good and rested but it makes me feel groggy and rubbish. I am not an early riser. I take magnesium supplements which help a lot, you have to keep taking them regularly though, they don't work like drugs in a sleeping tablet

8-9 hours solid a night for about half the week and then 4-5 broken sleep for the other half! No idea why. 52, kids at uni so no interruptions.
