The picture of the owners bedroom at the end made me laugh. It’s so basic compared to the rest of the property. It’s clearly a B&B.

I'm laughing at photo 7 which is the most blank white space I've ever seen. I'm imagining the owner sitting in their office doing admin whilst loathing the rest of the entire house they have decorated in maximalist fashion!

I thought the same thing. They must retreat to that room to clear their mind Grin

Very sinister energy radiating from there

Yes made me shudder. I’d have a panic attack if I had to stay in any of those rooms

ChurchWindows · 30/01/2026 21:37

Is that Tony Mammoth in the (blurred out) poster in photo 6?

the80sweregreat · 30/01/2026 21:47

Certainly had a Mammoth look to that photo !

mindutopia · 30/01/2026 22:09

Oof, I wouldn’t want to take a black light to those carpeted platforms the mattresses sit on. 😳

Rumpledandcrumpled · 30/01/2026 22:11

Op that’s not a home, that’s a b and b.

KarenWheeler · 30/01/2026 22:11

….David it’s over to you.

Ha you beat me to it!

cestlavielife · 30/01/2026 22:18

The property benefits from planning permission for a Change of Use from a hotel to private residential dwelling,

BillieWiper · 30/01/2026 22:21

Yeah that's not someone's house. It's a hotel/b&b/possible ex brothel. Or is giving the vibe of the stylings on one. But maybe it's meant to be ironic, kitsch, camp...looks kind of creepy to me!

But if you just imagine it plainer it's a decent place to do a b&b or maybe split into a couple flats.

Toastersandkettles · 30/01/2026 22:24

I quite like it. It's nice to see something that isn't boring beige like everyone else.

It’s not a brothel, good grief.😂

Haha I was joking. Just because some of the decor is a bit 70s sexploitation comedy adjacent. 😂

CaptainMyCaptain · 30/01/2026 19:58

That was my thought. It's not a home.

Its actually described in the notes as a hotel with change of use permission to turn it into a private residence.

MyDeepAquaMentor · 30/01/2026 22:47

Looks like a 60 minute makeover job from the 90's.

matresense · 30/01/2026 22:58

It looks as if Changing Rooms did up every bedroom 🤣

Branleuse · 30/01/2026 23:02

I actually love that

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 30/01/2026 23:31

I’d break a leg if I had to get out of that plinth bed in the night.

Mcdhotchoc · 31/01/2026 00:12

Thought it was Hastings tbh.

Crwysmam · 31/01/2026 00:51

B&B with a classic 1970s theme. Takes me right back to my childhood. Green floral/swirl carpets, orange of every shade in geometric patterns. Probably a few flamenco dolls around and a lava lamp. I bet there’s an avocado/orange/deep blue bathroom suite in most of the bedrooms.

When I bought my first house in 1989, a new build, I requested a white bathroom, they couldn’t source one. By 1995 when we bought our second house they were just coming back into fashion. The 70s and 80s were all about colour. It might look like an explosion in a dodgy paint factory but so much better than the battle ship and grey monotone we’ve had for the last decade.

I am waiting for the carpet industry to move on from grey and beige before I recarpet my lounge. I really want a loop and cut carpet but no one currently makes them.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 31/01/2026 01:29

Who lives in a house like this?

Rowley Birken QC (Of course I was very, very drunk at the time).

MarxistMags · 31/01/2026 01:40

Is it a house of ill repute ? 🤣

Overtheatlantic · 31/01/2026 01:52

Imagine what horrors a blue light torch could find!

Frequency · 31/01/2026 01:57

I was also thinking brothel, tbf. I'm not sure if I just hate it or if I hate it so much I actually love it.
