Wipe your phone camera before you take pictures- that haze isn’t atmospheric it’s scuzz on the lens.

Your diamond jewellery should sparkle, dirt and grime need to be removed regularly otherwise your pieces will become dull. Fairy liquid and a soft brush works wonders.

If You’ve lost a lot of weight recently change your glasses frames and hair style, the old styles were chosen for a different face shape. And well done!

Empty your handbag out, you’ve probably been carting around a bag of rubbish, same with your purse. Apple Pay is a dream by the way and as dangerous as carrying around your cards only your physical cards don’t have Face ID security.

When was the last time you cleaned the dishwasher filter? Use one of the Finish dishwasher cleaner cartridges too, makes a huge difference. Oh and fill up your salt and rinse aid.

M&S beans are 50p and divine - their chopped tomatoes the same and 55p.

Domestos over Toilet Duck every time, you can’t convince me otherwise, TD stinks

People who leave empty coffee cups and cans on shelves in shops are scumbags

I’ll add more ramblings as I remember things. Please add your own…

White gold can go yellow over time or after time in a hot tub. Replating is pricey but pop sensodyn on with a soft brush and leave overnight. Wash off in the morning and it’ll be good as new.

BG2015 · 29/01/2026 20:58

Aldi beans are even cheaper!

Not paying for Domestos when I can buy supermarket own bleach! It’s just going down the toilet and smells like….bleach!

mdinbc · 29/01/2026 20:58

Untangle your gold chains if you are wearing more than one, as is now the style. Garbled up chains is a peeve of mine.

Thanks for this tip, just Sensodyne toothpaste? X

Read widely on the subjects of structuralism and the Arts and Crafts movement and become the perfect dinner party guest.

If your mugs go brown inside, put a bit of Persil in, fill up with hot water and leave to stand for a bit. Put your teaspoons in and they'll come up nice and bright too. Be sure to rinse thoroughly before using again.

Clean the tumble dryer filter regularly, especially if you've been tumbling towels. It gets clogged up with fluff.

Ok

Never iron anything. Life is too short. Men can do their own shirts.

Other makes might work but I used sensodyne when advised by a friend. I wore my ring in a hot tub and was getting quotes from jewellers then moaning to friend how dumb I was and cost myself £200 and would have to have a yellow ring for a while as I couldn’t justify it. She told me and I had nothing to lose. I was amazed it worked!

Grandma? Grandma? Is that you? If you can hear me, make the lights flicker.

ThatMintMember · 29/01/2026 21:36

I agree about the Domestos! My toilets were never clean with just Toilet Duck. Also, has to be Domestos as cheap bleach is too runny.

Get a debobbler/fabric shaver. I didn't have one until my 30's and it could have saved me from getting rid of so many jumpers as you can just revive them. Also great for Vinted purchases.

Mould Magic is amazing on the silicone around the bath, I wish I'd discovered it sooner.

I can tell your Facebook profile has loads of photo albums with names like ‘Pantomime 25 and food with the kids xx’ or ‘Debbie’s hen do part1 xx’ and 101 hazy pictures in each.

If you run out of slippers try sticking sanitary towels to your feet instead.

TheIncredibleBookEatingManchot · 29/01/2026 21:43

The OP is a bit weird but I have to reply to this to say that I bought a very good debobbler from the same company that does Mould Magic (Must Have Ideas, I think) and it’s very satisfying to restore jumpers to actually looking nice.
