No it’s morally bankrupt to fly so far for such a short period. Haven’t you heard of global warming?

How is it? It’s the same bloody plane doing the same route whether you’re on it or not. It makes zero difference to the planet if you stay one day or 14 🙄.

Do the log cabin, you will get much more “holiday time”!

EmbracingUncertainty · 21/01/2026 16:09

Nah - not worth it for the travel time

AcidicTrifle · 21/01/2026 16:14

Given you’re now saying you’d only be there 5pm on Saturday and flying home first thing on Monday, no I wouldn’t. One full day in Tenerife is not worth the hassle to me.

If it was arriving Friday night and coming back Monday morning, I’d at least consider it if it was just adults wanting a fun weekend. If it was with kids, I don’t think it’s worth the hassle and they’d be disappointed to come home so soon.

No, not for two nights, maybe just maybe if I lived right next to a small regional airport and could hop on but not from a big one.

We did the Forest Lodge with Hot tub thing in Sept for a few days, it was nice but so cold when you get out of the hot tub even with robes and towels and it was too cold to sit out on the lovely big deck to eat apart from at breakfast time when the sun was on there, I wouldn't go in the depths of winter. The lodge was lovely and had a log burner but very dark inside once it was dark. Hotel with spa would be my choice at this time of year.

I’d definitely go if I was reasonably close t the airport at both ends

Are you EU citizens? Last time we flew to Tenerife we were stuck in the British passports queue dealing with the new biometrics requirements. From the time the plane landed till the time we left the airport was 4 hours, almost all of that standing in a queue. Totally not worth it for such a short trip

No not for just 2 days of sun, all the airport faff and hanging around would be too much for me - when I saw your opening post I wondered if you were going for a wedding, funeral or similar and were short of annual leave
