Northern lights can sometimes be an anti-climax.

However, I have been lucky enough to see the most amazing displays – completely visible to the naked eye as strong as the photographs you see. The lights danced across the sky.

I cried lots – it was very emotional to see as it was so spectacular.

Heading back to Iceland again next month and hoping for a repeat.

When we saw them in Lapland my (young adult) son immediately turned round in excitement and gave me a big squeeze and kiss on the cheek. Not something he normally does! So not anti-climatic at all. But when I show the photos I do tell people that the bright green colour couldn't be seen with the naked eye.
