What’s your go-to meal deal selection?

For me, I LOVE the chicken club sandwich from Tesco, I usually try and pair it with a fruit pot (either Pink Lady apple slices, or pineapple chunks) and an apple juice if they have it, or Pepsi Max Cherry, or Dr Pepper.

I don’t get them often, I last had one a couple of weeks ago and before that, it was months ago! Although in the summer of 2024 I got a bit addicted to the chicken club and had 2-3 meal deals a week for about 2 months until one day I couldn’t stomach even the thought of it! But I like them again now, although not like the other year.

Depends if I'm going quality over quantity (and which meal of the day).

For quality it'd be a prawn / salmon & cucumber sandwich, an innocent smoothie and a fruit box.

For quantity, it'd be a Morrisons salad box, the same smoothie and either the fruit box, a yoghurt with granola or a vegetable samosa. The salad box is HUGE and is more than I can eat in one sitting. And all 3 for £3.75. Brilliant value. I do this one if I'm getting something for dinner and don't want to cook.

So many people choosing a cheese and onion sandwich. I'm appalled. I could only eat that toasted.

The cheese and onion are shredded and mixed with mayonnaise. It’s not just a slab of cheese.

Midmeddlecum · 15/01/2026 10:04

I like the prawn sandwich, some sort of fruit pot and either sparkling water or iced tea. I do copy the M&S brain food snack pot - hard boiled egg, smoked salmon and edamame beans.

There have been incidents in the news with them recalling some because of bacteria and food poisoning and I can't get that out of my head

Yes but that can happen with any food that supermarkets sell.

Surprised nobody’s commented that they never eat meal deals because of the appalling salt and fat content.

Anyway, it’s the southern fried chicken wrap or sushi, McCoys salt & vinegar and a Diet Irn Bru for me.

I always see those lonely looking boiled eggs in the Tesco fridge and wonder what heathen is choosing those.

Haha- the boiled eggs! I heard they were the most popular snack? I always try and get the maximum calories for my money! But yeah those eggs give me the Heebie jeebies, lol x

Cheese onion sandwich, 2 eggs and coke zero

BearSoFair · 15/01/2026 11:46

Chicken caesar wrap or chicken and pesto sandwich (if at Asda)
Cherry coke or Oasis summer fruits
Mango pot or salt and vinegar crisps

isitmytime · 15/01/2026 11:48

Tesco Caesar salad, salt and vinegar squares and irn bru. I rarely have one but that’s the only combo that will do

KitKatKrums · 15/01/2026 11:51

M&S Italian pasta & spinach salad (because the word “salad” makes me feel virtuous even though it’s actually mainly pasta covered in olive oil). Bottle of fizzy orange and sour cream & chive crinkle crisps. I’m half asleep from carb overload 30 mins later.

LeopardsANeutral · 15/01/2026 11:52

Chicken Caesar wrap at the moment, with Walkers baked cheese and onion crisps and a coke. I switch to the Christmas themed sandwiches when they're out.
If it's M&S, they do an amazing cheese, egg mayo and pickle sandwich that I love. I have a meal deal once a week when I'm in the office as a treat!

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 15/01/2026 11:59

Chicken Caesar wrap, the snack sushi for my son (if I was having the snack it would be orange Doritos) and Pepsi max cherry.

Shedmistress · 15/01/2026 12:01

We dont have meal deals here but when I was last in the UK I had my old favourite which was cheese sandwich with square crisps salt and vinegar flavour and placed inside the sandwich, and a proper coke to keep me awake during the driving.

Sartre · 15/01/2026 12:02

Either falafel and hummus wrap or mozzarella pesto wrap, Tony’s chocolonely and cherry Coke Zero. I’m one of two people in the country to have this combo according to clubcard stats.

IveLostMyUsername · 15/01/2026 12:02

Either the chicken triple sandwich or the hoisin duck wrap. Paired with pepsi max cherry or monster zero sugar something (there's a few flavours) if I really need a pick me up. With either prawn cocktail crisps (or prawn cocktail wotsits if they have them) or the lindt bar or 3 pack of ferrero rocher depending on if I'm craving salty or sweet.
Have to have a few options as our Tesco sometimes has a restocking issue so I can't guarantee my favourite every time

IchiNiSanShiGo · 15/01/2026 12:19

Honey mustard chicken pasta, cocktail sausages with ketchup, bottle of water

Big Sainsbury’s have a hot meal deal section, so southern fried chicken bap, snacking cheese, bottle of water

If none of the above available, cheese & onion sandwich or chicken Caesar wrap, ready salted giant hula hoops, bottle of water or Tropicana multivitamin juice.

Unless it’s September and the Christmas sandwiches are out, in which case I’m trying them all.

lemonzlimez · 15/01/2026 12:27

Yo! Sushi Poke bowl, Max salt & vinegar crisps, flavoured water.. now I’m hungry!!

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 15/01/2026 12:27

Just been to Booths and had a beef, horseradish and rocket baguette, roast beef crisps, Bakewell slice and a raspberry innocent bubbles!

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 15/01/2026 16:24

I too am surprised at the amount people
going for cheese and onion sandwiches! I used to go for those when I was younger and then I discovered I actually liked the sandwiches with a bit more to them (like my beloved chicken club 😋)
