Good Morning All! What's everyone doing today?

I'm just finishing my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. The cats have had breakfast & girl cat is snoozing at the top of the cat tree, out of reach. Boy cat is sat in the kitchen window, watching the wood pigeon that's parading about on the fence 🤣.

The washer's on already, to wash the last of the things dd1 wants to take back to uni tomorrow afternoon & I have another small load ready to go in later on.

The kitchen's a bit of a bomb site this morning, so my plan is to sit for another hour or so, then potter about sorting it out. Once the kitchen's cleaned and tidied, I'll get dressed & spend the rest of the day pottering and crafting. I'm working my way through a few almost finished then abandoned projects, before I start on two new kits.

Dd1 has an assignment to finish, and submit, so that was her plan for the day. She also needs to pack the things she's taking back with her, and double check there's nothing else to be washed.

Dd2 has a couple of pieces of homework to do, and needs to spend half an hour sorting her bedroom. It's not terrible in there, so I'm trying to help her get in the habit of having a weekly "reset" to keep on top of it.

Later on, we'll have the leftovers from my birthday takeaway for tea, with a glass or two of something, then earlyish nights ready for returning dd1 to London tomorrow.

Good morning all!

Just had a brew now lying back in bed, it’s freezing this morning! Both kids still asleep, think first week back at school has took it out of them. Will wake them up soon though as don’t want them going to sleep too late tonight. Oh is in a total grump, as usual!

Not much planned for today other than a birthday meal out around 5pm. We had a snow day yesterday so caught up on housework and laundry. Will whack a dark load in though as out all day tomorrow visiting family. It feels like Sunday!

Good morning lucysmam and others. It's-1° here and more snow is forecast. I plan to stay home and slowly get housework done. I might go back to bed for a bit first as I had a very disturbed sleep. Morning all! Woke up early for a Saturday and had a brew back in bed, chilled morning then I’m meeting a friend for lunch and another friend has a birthday do later so dropping into that.

Hoping it doesn’t rain all day, but looking forward to seeing friends.

DD is still snoring, the washing machine is on. I’ll be out with mad dog in a bit then off to see a horror film with my oldest friend this afternoon; hopefully she’ll hold my hand when I’m frightened!

Good morning lucysman, just sat in the kitchen with a coffee looking out at the hard frost and wondering if we should do that tip run (we live rurally, at the top of a steep hill). Going to finish the New Year decluttering of my wardrobe then decide I think.

I'm going to make a big cottage pie, soup and cheese scones later and freeze half for a meal or two next week as it's going to be a busy one. We've got our usual DGC childcare days and are off to the theatre one evening (after a full day of childcare so we may be a bit tired).

Hoping to nip into town late afternoon to pick up some new bedding that's coming from John Lewis. It's for DGC as they've transitioned from cot to bed!

DH making us a Chinese fakeaway for dinner then will try to find something interesting to watch on TV.

Good morning all. I’m feeling very refreshed after 10 hours sleep last night - it was needed after a stupidly busy week at work and hosting my uncle whose flight home last weekend was cancelled due to the weather in his home country! He finally got home yesterday morning which is great for him.

As is usual, dh is at work and dd11 is still askew and I’ve just finished my first cup of tea and waiting for my Tesco delivery. The dishwasher is on (loaded it last night but forgot to actually turn it on) and so is the washing machine.

Todays plan is to catch up on the humongous pile of washing I have, clean the house which hopefully won’t take long - it’s tidy, just needs dusting/hoovering/mopping and the bathrooms wiping over and I’m hoping to have that done by lunchtime. I’ll then have a nice long, hot shower, get dressed in comfy clothes and spend the rest of the day just chilling at home, pottering about and I might start a new book as I have a few waiting to be read.

Tea tonight is curry and then I plan on a cosy evening either reading or watching a film before bed. I’m doing dry January so no wine for me tonight but I’m actually enjoying the break from it!

Lounging in bed and I should probably get up. I need to collect my food order. I have been on a declutter mission, today is the coat cupboard. I have some work to do and a dog to walk this afternoon. Salmon for tea I think. Enjoy your Saturdays.

Morning @lucysmamand all. I’m still in bed, woken up with a stinking cold and didn’t sleep well.
A quiet day today. We’re also on the pre-back to uni laundry mission, and I have school work to catch up on. Ds1 is revising for exams and ds2 also has the horrible cold so probably won’t move far, unless rugby isn’t cancelled in which case he’ll probably muster some energy from somewhere to play.
I was going to see my mum but don’t want to give her the lurgy so I’ll call her instead. No doubt Dh will want to go for a sunny frosty walk at some point.
Singapore noodles as a last meal with ds1 tonight (it’s one of his favourites) before we drive him back tomorrow.

We're just at dance class at the moment and then hopefully just pottering at home for the rest of the day.
Perhaps a takeaway tonight with something on TV.

Been up ages as was awake in the night and thought I heard some rustling noise in the corner of the bedroom in a box. So no more sleep for me! DH has checked it this morning and there is nothing there so I think I was probably a bird in the guttering outside the window. 🤞 Bedroom getting a good clean later though!

Washing machine is on. Am about to empty the dishwasher. And having read the thread about cleaning the dishwasher I am going to clean the filter and arms and run a cleaning cycle!

We got back from holiday on Tuesday so this week has been catching up on washing and taking down all the Christmas decorations.

Nothing much planned today. Will do some housework - mainly my bedroom. And then I’m planning on reading for a hour or so. Cottage pie for dinner which DH will do.

If I don’t have a nap later after my rubbish sleep it will be an early night I think.

I hate goin there now as the house holds too much sadness as both parents passed there within 10 months of each other . But it needs to be done as we are in process of putting it up for sale . Think then home to chill as so cold here today and Chinese and a few wines later . Have a great and safe day all 🫶

Happy Saturday all! I did a supermarket shop early, resting with tea and biscuits now, off to pharmacy after that. Then buying pillows and more food shopping. Friend around in a bit.

On the docket today - laundry away, light housework, dog walk, find the reading records from school and fill them in.
Later we’re going to play a board game then I’ll cook a curry with a glass of fizz and catch up on Traitors with DH.

Morning all. We're all just lolling about so far this morning after a tricky night with autistic DS. We're tired but in reasonable fettle. We'll get the week's shopping and there's quite a few tedious but necessary tasks on the to do list, including some work for me. Forecast is pretty rubbish, weather wise. I think we'll have breakfast - Bagels - then make a plan. DS's room could do with a big tidy and there's always work for the renovation but we're pretty shattered and the first few days of 2026 have been tough so I'm tempted just to have a very lazy, screen heavy afternoon. Started watching the second series of Patience last night and I'd like to continue with that and some knitting. Lunch will be left over curry in toasties and dinner is an Ottolenghi chicken one pot thing. No wine and I must avoid booking any more holidays to cheer myself up. Coffee now - much needed. one load of laundry on, I don’t want to think how many I have to do, after 2/3 glorious weeks of not having to worry about school uniform it’s time to fit in the shirt/PE//blazer washes again

Eldest wants to make venison burgers so will go butcher with him shortly - see if they have venison (this is going to be so embarrassing!) - and get a chicken for roast tomorrow

I have come down with a lurgy so it will be on the sofa today watching as much rubbish tv as I can consume.

DD13 is happy as means she can just potter about too after first week back at school. Dcat is very happy as he has snuggled next to DD and snoozing away.

Have online shop coming at 4 so that will be my highlight of the day today!

I've had a bit of a crappy week, to be honest. I've had heart problems (atrial fibrillation - otherwise known as palpitations) since Monday, which means that I am extremely short of breath and can't really do anything. I tried to make myself a salad on Thursday but couldn't even do that! So I've been relying on Mr Dilemma for everything. Then, on Thursday, my local daughter, chorister grandson's mum, sent me some really sad information. The local Cathedral School, where all the chorister are educated currently, is closing down at the end of this school year. Arrangements have been made with another school for the choristers to continue their education there but obviously it is a big shock, and the new school is quite a bit further away which will make it difficult for chorister grandson to get to school for rehearsals at 7.50 in the morning, as his parents don't have a car. There is a meeting for the chorister parents this morning, which I was meant to be going to with my daughter, but since I would struggle even to walk as far as the car I can't go to that.

So - I have got out my crafting stuff and I'm working on a pink Christmas stocking decoration for my lovely massage lady's little girl (for next Christmas obviously). She is a very pink.and sparkly little girl, despite both her parents being much more the outdoorsy practical kind of people, so I'm indulging myself with pink and sparkly.

I'm meant to be making a delicious stew today, Mr Dilemma went out to get some beef yesterday when our cleaner was here and I was hiding in my bedroom, but that won't be happening. Hopefully I will be able to do it tomorrow - if not the beef with have to go in the freezer. I think we're having sausages tonight, and I have some Bolognese sauce in the freezer if I'm still unwell tomorrow.

if I'm still unwell on Monday I will phone (or try to phone) my cardiac specialist nurse and also try to get an appointment with my GP. I have been told, very nicely and politely, NOT to keep going to the ED as there is nothing they can do for me, I'm already on medication and unless I have chest pain I'm not dying, or going to die. So I just have to wait it out.

Third cuppa with snoozing dog on knee. Washer on the first load, pots washed, breakfast done. Currently watching the sleet- which can do one!
Need to tidy the house today so fil can pop in on the dog this week while me and dh are on the same shift.
Need to find inspiration for dinner, toying with prawn salad. Managed to fail a FIT test and CA125 test so waiting to be booked in for a colonoscopy. When the colorectal lady took my history she said she would put money on it being dairy and wheat intolerance. I was a mouse in a previous life and live off hot buttered toast.....
Dh is fitting his new seats into the mini he's rebuilding. Apparently we're looking at race harnesses. This should be fun!

Good morning all! Another birthday here today too. Had a very relaxed morning in bed, about to get up to have a smoked salmon breakfast. Mostly pottering for the rest of the day I think - we have a bit of tidying to do, and I’d like to carry on with some knitting. We got a new board game for Christmas so perhaps will try that out this afternoon. Then DP and I are off into central for dinner and a show this evening to celebrate which I’m so looking forward to.
