I've got a lamb, butternut squash and apricot tagine on the go - more or less this recipe.

I'm out of dried apricots/prunes, so will have to nip to the Coop!

A Moroccan mainstay, this slow-cooked casserole is flavoured with coriander and ras-el-hanout spices

Ooh that sounds lovely.

I have leftover bacon so tomato, lentil and bacon soup here. I'm doing a chilli later too for DD to take back to uni - usual mum style with lots of hidden veg.

Zippedydodah · 05/01/2026 11:12

Left over cooked turkey that’s been in the freezer, sweetcorn and chopped onion so I can make a delicious soup (or is it a chowder?) for dinner. I’ll add stock, a bit of curry powder and seasoning then have it with oven-baked rolls ( perhaps they’ll be bacon butties?)
My very favourite soup.

Westfacing · 05/01/2026 11:25

I made what I called a turkey & sweetcorn chowder - I think the addition of cream made it a chowder but I'm not sure if that's the definitive rule!

I had a ridiculously large number of apples bought very very cheap from a supermarket over Xmas so stewed them up yesterday with spices and maple syrup. Now I have a load of tubs in the freezer ready for quick desserts or porridge toppers.

I've got Archer kitchen Cape Malay beef curry. Seriously it is one of the best things I've ever made in my whole life - and I'm in my 60s!

Recipe please!

CointreauVersial · 05/01/2026 13:07

Nothing today, but at the weekend I made a huge vat of Beef Bourguignon (Delia Smith recipe) after coming home from Costco with a vast pack of stewing beef. I think I ended up with about 12 portions, so the freezer is a bit full right now.

JimJamJelly · 05/01/2026 13:10

Creamy chicken and mustard sauce (pasta to be cooked later) and I've just used my new soup maker for the first time to make leek and potato soup for lunch which was a huge success - thank you DH! It's just beeped at me that it's (hopefully) finished cleaning itself too!

RaraRachael · 05/01/2026 14:27

@ecuse I think you could just Google it or she's on Instagram.

@Westfacing and @Vound I've found all her recipes excellent- not too many ingredients or faff to prepare and really tasty.

Bored of Lunch is also good.

It was indeed lovely and very tasty; and a bit darker than the photo shows! I had one portion and when it cools two for the freezer.

I'm now planning something for tomorrow involving meatballs and pearl barley 🌞

Tarragon chicken today. Can be eaten with pasta, rice or on its own with good bread.

Mudflaps · 05/01/2026 17:18

Chicken and veg stock. I keep two bags in the freezer, one for Chicken carcasses a d one for veg trimmings, usually make individual stock but needed freezer space so its Chicken and veg today. I'll reduce the stock, freeze some and make soup tomorrow using the sad looking veg leftover from Christmas.
