I've got a lamb, butternut squash and apricot tagine on the go - more or less this recipe.

Well I've now got a lovely vat of soup for lunches this week
butternut squash, carrots, sweet potato, parsnips and leeks with red lentils added
also added some ground cumin and coriander with a spot of chilli

Green lentils

Not a slow cooker but a pan on top of the log burner with a ham , full sugar cola and assorted spices !

So free energy! 😊

’Barleysotto’ with meatballs

Just put together a ‘dump bag’ to defrost in the fridge ready to go in the slow cooker tomorrow. It’s a variety of odds and ends I found when digging through the freezer drawers but should taste good:

• pork shoulder steaks
• peppers
• mushrooms
• red onion
• carrots
• tinned tomatoes

Seasonings - garlic (from a tube), Salt, Paprika, Pepper, Chillies, Cumin, Basil, Turmeric, Oregano. Will stick it on at breakfast time on low and leave it till dinner time.

Not slow cooker but low oven. A massive casserole of shin beef from the local farmer. In red wine and mustard. Can’t wait!

A plain old lovely tasty beef stew (basically beef, carrots, onions and a rich gravy) we are having it today and tomorrow with mash and/or Yorkshire puddings. Followed by a slice of bread soaked in gravy!
