In 2025 I…
Got divorced
sorted out my health issues
bought a house
got a promotion
passed my driving test (finally)
bought a new car
increased my pension contributions
travelled to a few bucket list locations

Next year I would like to…
start a masters (hopefully through a highly subsidised program!)
Top up My savings.
take my dc on an adventure trip to remember forever.

what are your goals for 2026? Big or small ❤️

Start my herb/fruit/veg patches and plant shrubs and flowers to bring some colour to my garden.

I lost a lot of weight this year, but also muscle so I’d like to increase my muscle strength.

Put my phone down and read more.

Get stuck in to my new job (one I’ve wanted for a long time) and also enjoy volunteering at my local care home.

Carry on being a loving and present mum and wife to my humans and animals. 😍

devildeepbluesea · 01/01/2026 08:38

I’ll be 53 in April and every single year I’ve resolved to lose weight. Now that I’m starting to creak, am presumably menopausal and still having to work a full time job I see no reason why it’s more likely to happen now, considering it hasn’t so far.

My goals are to transition from passive hobbies like audiobooks, doomscrolling and podcasts to more active ones:

Actually reading books
Handcrafts
Writing
(increased) running

Top of my list is keeping positive and supporting DH through a current diagnosis (may need craniotomy) . We were planning to go abroad for our 30th wedding anniversary, but in reality just some quality time together would be great (he's not really able to engage in anything right now).

Over 2025 I've got myself as fit as I've ever been, partly helped by the fact DH is normally so active himself. I've managed some really steep walks this year and I want to try and keep myself fit for when we can do them together again.

Clytemnestra21 · 01/01/2026 09:12

Going to take care of myself this year

crossstitchingnana · 01/01/2026 09:21

2025 was an absolute shit-show so I would like a calm 2026 please, but with parents’ failing health I feel that’s a pipe dream.

Yuja · 01/01/2026 09:27

Take advantage of the exercise classes available in my office.
actively seek promotion at work
keep up the reading habit I re-ignited in 2025

Downtoyou · 01/01/2026 09:32

I'm hoping to get a uni place for September in oncology and therapeutic radiotherapy

Get divorced

Laiste · 01/01/2026 09:35

Do my yoga every day.
Lose the weight.
Drink more water.

Get the effing kitchen finished !

soccermum10 · 01/01/2026 09:42

Just get through the year to be honest. 2025 was really hard and have a feeling 2026 will be the same.

Our mortgage deal ends this year in May and we only have 2 years left (been overpaying for years). Need to finish renovating then looking to move.

NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoByAgain · 01/01/2026 09:47

In 2025 I lost 3 stone (which is amazing for me with peri and a dodgy thyroid, thanks MJ!) and I went on a big walk which I finished but was soooo hard!

in 2026 I’d like to:

  1. Lose the final 2 stone and then maintain
  2. Walk that big walk again and enjoy it this time
  3. Recover from surgery I am having in February
  4. Do yoga and squats every day
  5. Join a choir
troppibambini6 · 01/01/2026 09:57

In 2025
I did lots of renovating and learnt some new skills in the process. Lost 4.5 stone. Realised some people I thought were friends really weren’t.

In 2026
I want to get the kitchen extension done, decorate my bedroom and finish all the little bits off in the rooms we are nearly finished.
I am also going to focus on myself a bit more. I’ve ordered some supplements and am going to get myself moving more.

Wow you achieved so much in 2025, op! Well done! What do you want to do your Master’s in? Good luck!

Infortheduration · 01/01/2026 10:02

Could I ask what the highly-subsidised masters programme is? Would love to do more education but it's so expensive!

Fruitandnuts · 01/01/2026 10:08
  • Become Debt free - clear credit card and if used pay off balance before interest is charged.
  • Build up my savings pot - aim for 5/10k because you know you can do it!
  • Use Sprive/Jam Doughnut App etc for purchases to build up rewards.
  • Listen to more interesting audiobooks - (create a list).
  • Leave the child benefit money in a savings account.
  • Budget food by batch cooking more.
  • Buy/sell using Vinted.
  • Use things before buying another one - shower-gels, toothpaste etc.
  • Make my own work lunches.
  • Top up Greggs app on payday to cover office days coffee for the month.
  • Exercise - more hiking, running or walking. .
  • More spa days/treatments.
  • Quit vaping. Last vape was 27 November 2025 @10.30am.
  • More quality time family days out.
  • Book a babysitter and then a nice restaurant, plan seeing a musical, comedian etc with DP every 2 months or so.
Olive567 · 01/01/2026 10:12

2025 - separated from LTP, sold house, moved town, bought new house, hosted first Christmas in new home for friends and family - still in one piece - just!

2026 - do works on house, refocus on my health and wellbeing, join gym, integrate into new community, get promotion, have a holiday, reassess finances and pension contributions.

ColdWaterDipper · 01/01/2026 18:06

Get fitter, lose more weight, ride my horse more, get physio for a limb I broke last year that still gives me pain, and carry on supporting my children in their sports (they both have specific high level goals that they want to achieve). Oh and keep the veg beds much better weeded this summer!

grapefruitnights · 01/01/2026 18:36

I plan to eat more pickles

SemiRetiredLoveGoddeess · 01/01/2026 18:39

Lose weight and get my health problems under.

Buy some new furniture and hae new bedroom flooring laid.

HappyNewBeer · 01/01/2026 19:42

Be disciplined

Forgotwhatimdoing · 01/01/2026 19:50

I’ve been backsliding since the start of December. Hoping that a return to normal routine will sort me out. I need to drink more water, eat properly, get back into the rhythm of cooking, and exercise.

It will help when school starts but that can be a rocky transition for my eldest, so I’m trying not to think about doing anything too dramatic until mid January.

HedgeWitchOfTheWest · 01/01/2026 20:11

2025
• Bullied out of a long teaching career
• But learned some important skills along the way
• Built a lot of muscle
• Started HRT (awesome, highly recommended)
• And then started a new career in my 40s

2026
• Plan is to slowly reduce my body fat by a little bit (fight the creep, show off the gains)
• Learn how to talk to and about myself with confidence
• Have more family adventures (now that my job doesn’t require weekly recovery)

🥂🎆

Missingpop · 01/01/2026 22:17

Find a job I enjoy; the job I’m doing at the moment is lovely but the staff are very young & I find them extremely rude.
Try to get my help sorted out I’m fed up of being unwell all of the time I’m existing not living.
Drink more water boring I know but I have kidney stones they’re so painful it’s unreal; very close to labour pains.
decorate my house from top to bottom how I want it done not how my husband chooses; I’ve promised myself if I save for the furniture he can bloody well lump it I’m fed up with having a fuddy duddy home I’m not his bloody mother I want a decently decorated & furnished home !!!
bring on the challenges!!!

Iocanepowder · 01/01/2026 22:21

For no one in my family of 4 to need surgery this year (has happened the last 3 years)

Lose a dress size

My 2 year old to sleep better

Enjoy being a parent and family life more

ChocolateHobbit · 01/01/2026 22:26

Live more present and not let myself get caught up in my thoughts all the time.

Achieve a good level of fitness once again.

Have the balls to get out of my horrible career and work towards my dream of becoming a commercial pilot at 40.
I may never do it, but I at least want to try and perhaps open some new doors for myself along the way.

HedgeWitchOfTheWest · 02/01/2026 06:08

Wow, good luck @ChocolateHobbit
