I have 2. First is my coffee machine. It grinds the beans, so I can have a freshly brewed coffee each morning. I love it!
Second one is a prize from postcode lottery. It's a rechargeable hot water bottle, and it's been a game changer! Especially useful for when I'm cold watching DS play rugby....

  1. mounjaro. I am diabetic and a bit overweight, i've lost 4kg. pity the NHS can't actually prescribe it.
  2. an Orwell and Austen smiley face jumper. Everyone commented on it!
  3. Applaws fish in jelly for the cat, he loves it

Gym membership. Stronger and fitter is the best present to myself.

ManyPigeons · 01/01/2026 00:17

A pair of Abercrombie & Fitch Loose jeans in a Short size. I’m 5’3 and they are the perfect length and fit, the pelvis area actually fits right and they don’t drag on the ground. Cost me £46 (on sale + additional offer) and they’re my perfect jeans. Now I just need them in a dark wash…

Strap on hot water bottle - my house is 10C right now due to having shit insulation so you can imagine why this is the best.

An Insinkerator (food waste disposal in the sink plug hole) - good bye food waste, flies, smells, bin juice and foxes!

Tumbleweed101 · 01/01/2026 00:39

7 seater Toyota Corolla. Got it for £350 and I just want it for a road trip with international friends around uk in Sept. Rough around the edges but currently working fine.

Ooh me too, little girl though and she’s the best thing I’ve bought all year by a mile

Aw, she’s gorgeous. 🥰

The Corolla will still be going in 10 years… they are indestructible!
I bought a hybrid one 18 months ago and I bloody love it and it saved a fortune in petrol.
I am envious of any road trip.

marriednotdead · 01/01/2026 06:17

Coldplay tickets, been on my bucket list for over a decade and it was worth the wait.
Double air fryer. The old smaller one dsis gave me lasted a year and made itself indispensable as an appliance. The new one is amazing.

A jumper de-bobbler. All my old jumpers look like new.

Which one please?

Staringintothevoid616 · 01/01/2026 08:44

Gig tickets - best ones Iron Maiden - hard to pick a specific show but probably London (Manchester close second) and Sabaton in Nottingham were the best.

My trip to Africa.. I will never forget the sunsets, being so close to animals, the people, sundowners at sunset.. it was utter utter magic.

Which countries did you visit? And which country would you visit again or recommend others to visit??

GingerBeverage · 01/01/2026 09:07

Such a MN cliche - my Seasalt coat! 😂
And Oasis tickets.

TheApocalypticiansApprentice · 01/01/2026 09:15

I sincerely hope you do know which individual countries you visited on the continent of Africa, @LunaTheCat. (I have to say I’m struggling with the … phrasing of your post. the people - across an entire continent?)

It’s already 20 years old but it got us to Cornwall and back for our holiday last July. It needs a little TLC but the MOT was clear in December :) .

LunaTheCat · 01/01/2026 09:24

Nautilus I went to South Africa , Zimbabwe and Botswana- Boteswana was my favourite.
i mainly went to see the animals and iit was wonderful.

MonkeyTennis34 · 01/01/2026 09:37

Raye tickets. I haven’t been yet and I paid silly money for them but I know it will be brilliant.

Living room makeover. It is now beautiful but a bit soulless …need to get some wall art.

My Aspinal bag. It was originally £500 and I bought it for £198 in their sale, feeling very smug!

Edited

Oh come on now, it’s really not unusual to refer to continents if you travel to several countries within them, you will often hear people say they’re going to South America or Asia, Americans will frequently say “back packing across Europe”.

landlordhell · 01/01/2026 09:56

I which Seasalt coat ? Mentioned several times now.

BandedSnail · 01/01/2026 10:03

I have this one, Seafaring coat.

Getting air conditioning fitted in our bedroom, life changing. (Can be used to heat the room quickly as well as cool, so it’s been amazing year round!)

Also love my new car, newest car I’ve owned and every day I get in it and find a new gadget which I love and changes my life 🤣

On the less expensive end of the scale I replaced my saucepans after the panorama episode on plastics etc and can’t believe how much they’ve improved my cooking and clearing up experience! Actually don’t stick and wash up really easily.

Would love to know which brand. 🙏

Healthyalltheway · 01/01/2026 10:35

my ecovac - T50 I think is the number, game changer. Vaccumes, mops, programable, customisations for different rooms in the house, empties its dustbin, cleans its mop rollers and my shiny tiles are actually shiny and the carpet clean. brilliant.

Ninja ceramic saucepans

CraftandGlamour · 01/01/2026 10:42

My beautiful Cavapoo. He was just three months old when we adopted him and he's a bundle of love. (He also looks like Jim Henson created him)

I'm a big fan of my new Red Slimline parka, its so incredibly warm and not at all bulky.

RememberBeKindWithKaren · 01/01/2026 10:43

@HouseWithASeaView please can you tell me more about the floor robomop ?.
