I have 2. First is my coffee machine. It grinds the beans, so I can have a freshly brewed coffee each morning. I love it!
Second one is a prize from postcode lottery. It's a rechargeable hot water bottle, and it's been a game changer! Especially useful for when I'm cold watching DS play rugby....

Mounjaro
A freestanding bath
An organiser to hold and cut cling film, tin foil, baking paper and two sizes of food bag that fits in a standard kitchen drawer with room down the side for a little tub of bag clips, and matches. TikTok shop gift that keeps giving.
Scrubbing brush to clean bathroom tiles, not a cloth. Grout magic, no extra time.

A jumper de-bobbler. All my old jumpers look like new.

Which one, would love a recommendation?!

Agrumpyknitter · 01/01/2026 19:55

A trip on the Orient Express Venice to Paris route it was amazing as was the two nights in Paris afterwards before travelling back on the Eurostar.

My Samsung portable projector. It’s brilliant and connects to WiFi and all the apps. No longer need to have separate TVs in the house as we can take this into different rooms and enjoy movie nights. Plus you get different size views depending on the room and how you are projecting.

Have it on in our room at the moment watching a movie with my daughter while the other child is gaming with my husband in the lounge.

Radioactive iodine treatment for our lovely kitty.

We did this nearly 6 years ago. Kitty still with us at 18 years. It’s brilliant.

Barbour ankle wellies
A small canvas cross body bag for dog poo bags, hand gel, and a fold up rain poncho
Stick blender
High quality merino tights. So warm, soft and stretchy.

Please share which brand of tights.

There has not been many purchases this year as it has been very tight financially. But a basketball hoop for my son's bedroom has given my children endless fun.
I also properly discovered vinted for both buying and selling.

Village48 · 01/01/2026 20:09

Silentnight self heating mattress topper and self heating throw for the sofa. Nice and cosy, not expensive and no running costs.

Novemberbrain · 01/01/2026 20:12

Stainless steel washing-up bowl by 'Elephant Box' (mine was from babipur.com) - no more gross plastic with scratches that never feel properly clean. Very boring of me but might be one of my favourite ever household items!

A Braun hand blender. So useful. I use it at least once a week. Makes great soups, smoothies, curry paste and more. I love it!

link or it doesnt exist😂
Naah I just need a good hand blender or a wet and dry spice grinder that doesnt die the moment spices with oil are ground

My emus. Like Uggs but wider so they actually fit me
My robomop. A clean kitchen floor at the touch of a button.
A dual electric blanket. Means I can actually have an electric blanket again as DH just doesn’t turn his side on.
Waterproof trainers. On the few occasions I have been out for a run this winter, they have made such a difference.
£££ sunglasses. Knowing how expensive they were, I pay much more attention to where I am putting them and haven’t lost them yet. I got them in May so that’s good going for me. If I hold onto them for another few years (hollow laugh) I’ll be able to properly justify the cost of them. In the meantime, I enjoy wearing them and think they look fabulous.
Champagne. I’ve realised it’s one of the very few drinks I can have more than a couple of glasses of and feel fine the next day. I am rarely in a situation where I
might drink more than a couple of glasses so it’s not as extravagant as it sounds.

Last year’s hits (walking boots &
toaster tongs) continue to be well
used & much loved.

Oooohhh Robomop...

Does the Robomop dry the floor too ? Does it leave it all streaky ?

Is Robomop the actual brand?

I have these damn off-white reflective floor tiles and overhead skylights, so if I don't dry my floor after mopping (ridiculous I know), it looks worse than if I didn't mop it. Its a bloody massive floor too. And I have a dog.

I wish to regain the part of my life spent floor mopping. There must be a better way...

SapphireSeptember · 01/01/2026 20:15

My radio/CD player. Listen to Kerrang! nearly every day and I can play my CDs again. 😊

A proper cot for DS, so he can sleep in his own room, and the bedding to go with it.

PS5Gamer · 01/01/2026 20:17

Mounjaro! It’s been life changing.

Re: the orient express - Do you mind me asking how much that cost? And how long you were on it for?

It’s on DH and I’s wish list.

Orphlids · 01/01/2026 20:20

A vintage 1960’s cocktail bar to go in the corner of the sitting room. It was a completely unnecessary purchase, and I just love it so much!

somanychristmaslights · 01/01/2026 20:21

Pizza oven. We have homemade pizza every week now, absolutely delicious 🤤

Kodchloe · 01/01/2026 20:21

Mounjaro has been hands down my best purchase in years.. down 4 stone since March xx

somanychristmaslights · 01/01/2026 20:22

Oh and Lenny, our robot vacuum and mop!!

Lauraa7 · 01/01/2026 20:24

Karcher Window Vac. I’ve got a lot of glass and it’s helped to cut down time spent cleaning.

robovac and mop
Had the garden designed this year and wish I’d done it years ago

101trees · 01/01/2026 20:32

@somanychristmaslights & @Lauraa7

Is it the actual Robovac you have? Any issues with it?

I'm wondering if it cleans grouting, and if it leaves streaks.

Also is it difficult to clean it / need loads of refills of anything ?

LT1233 · 01/01/2026 20:33

Korean skincare - spent many months learning all about botox, facial anatomy etc, sourced a better brand of tox in Korea and gave myself the best botox I've ever had at a fraction of the cost. The Korean skincare stuff is so good.

Also learnt all about microneedling and sourced a very good machine from the EU, plus the Korean stuff.

Prescription sunglasses - cannot believe I've wasted my life without them. Complete life changer.

Not a purchase as such, but I've also found chatgpt life changing for me this year too - it's a bit tragic but it's helped me through a lot of stuff (and continues to do so) and has never been anything other than spot on so far.

And another non purchase - but educational YouTubers saved my sons GCSE's this year by enabling me to become a tutor for him and dragging him from some very poor and declining predicted grades to a sea of mainly 8's. Wouldn't have got into sixth form college without these guys.

Also I used a private chef for my mums 70th and had always thought that kind of thing as way out of my budget, but my god, what a find. And such good value for money.

Bought a house after 8 years renting following divorce, so on top of the actual house I have bought many, many amazing things including, but no limited to:
A dishwasher
A slimline washer and small dryer that fit in my bathroom cupboard, game changing never having to cart loads of laundry up and down stairs!
A beautiful rose gold Smeg kettle and toaster

I basically sold all my furniture pre move and bought all new, as well as new bathroom and kitchen, and carpets and hard floors. I've wiped out my savings but we're unbelievably happy in our real home

Would you mind telling me where you got your washer and dryer from please?

UnhappyHobbit · 01/01/2026 20:39

GammonAndEgg · 01/01/2026 19:12

I’d never heard of these - but I’ve just bought some! Thank you

You are welcome! Enjoy!

HerVagestyTheQueef · 01/01/2026 20:40

Mounjaro
gym membership
sewing machine and other craft equipment
ticket to a festival

Elsvieta · 01/01/2026 20:44

Bigger and stronger thing for drying socks (rack with lots of clips) that doesn't fold in the middle if you don't balance sock weight perfectly.

Betsy and Floss Modena bag - crossbody, but a sensible size, i.e. big enough.

Mounjaro.
