What’s the worse thing someone has called you?

I was explaining to my adult DD that I was once called a Jezebel by a group of giggling girls. No idea why, I’m not alluring or sexually provocative in any way. Strangely, I felt quite defensive, like I want to snort ‘no I am not’.

Someone also said I was two faced which I thought was ironic as I’m usually told I’m too blunt and honest.

‘Academically, Wiglio is not strong’
i went on to do a PhD.
Fuck you, supervisor.

SnakesandKnives · 28/12/2025 19:44

I’ve also been called both a fat cunt and a skinny cunt - within a few hours of each other too! My favourite, however, was overhearing two women at a ski thing ‘oh she’s one of those posh London birds with no arse’. Made me laugh

genuinely think the worst thing I’ve heard someone say about someone was similar to @Wiglio a school teacher got one of our classmates up to the front and said ‘Claire’s not very clever and won’t ever achieve much but she tries really hard’. As if it was a positive.

MissMarplesGoddaughter · 28/12/2025 19:48

I was once told I was ‘ a f*cking arsehole who was full of shit….’

Lavalampbubble · 28/12/2025 19:49

A Tory.
I was throwing a guy out the pub and he said You're nothing but a fucking Tory.
Being Scottish it's a sore insult 🤣

Madisnttheword · 28/12/2025 19:57

FIL called me the N word

I was called a fish wife by a teacher I respected, I was so offended I wrote her a letter explaining the situation she walked in on and she apologised but that stung when she said it.

My mother used to call me a fish wife all the time when I was a kid. And I wonder why I’m so fucked up 😬

SergeantWrinkles · 28/12/2025 20:03

An abusive ex Called me an N-loving whore. Because I’d had a non white boyfriend sometime before him. This was the start of a violent argument after he’d read some teenage diaries of mine, then become enraged. Violence ensued. Thankfully a long time ago now but I’ll never forget the shock of it.

GentleSheep · 28/12/2025 20:04

I am disabled, my abusive exH called me 'worse than disabled'.

moggerhanger · 28/12/2025 20:14

After my mother found out (by reading my diary) that at age 16 I'd had sex once with my boyfriend, she called me "a piece of shop-soiled goods." Amongst other unpleasant things, but for some reason that one stayed with me.

Gearcubenumpty · 28/12/2025 20:18

I remember my mother calling me ugly, starting when I was around 3 or 4. She also used to call me a jealous monkey, cretin, chicken brain and brain damaged. These were all frequent insults unfortunately.

She would also call me a fucking cunt and a bitch in her own language when I was a child. I only knew them to be bad words because she would frequently scream them in anger whilst attacking me. I found out their meanings as an older teen after I had left that situation.

Goinghome2late · 28/12/2025 20:23

A fawner. I was with a miserable unsociable git and was being chatty and friendly within a social group. He wanted to leave early. We did. I called him unsociable and he called me a fawner.

I realised then we were not compatible.

Slovenlyandblubbing · 28/12/2025 20:28

Being called selfish by my family when they have obviously and are overtly favouritised my DB his entire life and extending this into my DNs. They’ve also gaslit me the last two decades and made out like I’m the issue when they’re clearly dysfunctional. It’s taken me a while to work this through in mu mind, but now I see it for what it is, it feels quite liberating.

henlake7 · 28/12/2025 20:32

Been a nurse for decades so I've been called more names then I can remember. Also threatened, spat on, kicked, punched, etc.
For some reason little frail confused old ladies are always the worst, both for the most heinous insults and for having the finger strength of an industrial vice when they pinch you!😆

So true. A little old lady, when us nurses wore dresses with poppers to do them up, ripped my dress open from top to bottom when I was encouraging her to sit down and take her medication.

TomatoSandwiches · 28/12/2025 20:45

Some of these are deplorable.

falalalalaaaah · 28/12/2025 20:53

I was asked to read out to a jury what I was wearing the night I was raped. (Shorts & a vest top)
and was then told by the defence lawyer.. Can you not understand how this look is probably extremely confusing for men.
2024 by the way. I still feel like jumping over the dock and punching her a year on, scummy bitch.

This is awful, especially in this day and age! I was raped as a teenager and was told by my boyfriend afterwards that i “ must have encouraged him”. This was 40 years ago… i genuinely believed attitudes had changed.

FridayFriesDay · 28/12/2025 21:59

Being called a P* in the 80s and 90s was the norm. Very rarely called it over the last twenty years. But now it’s started again, just this year.

soupyspoon · 28/12/2025 22:01

Someone said to me once 'you might dress like a christian but you dont act like one'

Cheek!!

I can see now what she doing with this type of defence.
I should have stood on the doc shaking and crying but I didn’t.
She used statements like this to piss me off and make me come across as argumentative and therefore not vulnerable and therefore unlikely to be raped. It worked, society still doesn’t like to acknowledge that women who can have a voice can also be a victim.
The police told me after it’s a common tactic used in a court room, it’s why lots of defence lawyers in rape cases are women, it wouldn’t work if a man did the same thing.

PumpkinSpiceSeason · 28/12/2025 22:04

Ugly girl- as in "who is that ugly girl" by my grandpa after I cut off my hair for Locks of Love

Ugly buck tooth blonde who can't find a boy friend- by a carnie in the 90s, the kind who taunts people from the dunk tank

I'm early 40s now, not ugly and aging better than many of my peers who had bad habits I didn't have. I don't feel I need to look good for a man but scrub up well when I want to.

Franticbutterfly · 28/12/2025 22:16

My MIL said I was the fattest, ugliest girlfriend my DH had ever had…I’m not even particularly ugly.

Jesus Christ, what did you/your husband say in response.

I don’t remember now (he wasn’t there). I remember him saying it wasn’t true. MIL has form for jellyfish comments, we turn it into a bingo game now.

EveningSpread · 28/12/2025 22:20

My “grandmother” called me a tart (amongst other things) when I was 12, during a rant accusing me of causing/planning my parents’ divorce. She died about 18 years later without ever speaking to me again.
