Yes. I know a relative watches it and she is nearly 13.

BIWI · 23/12/2025 17:56

Have you watched it? What do you think?

SatsumaCandlesCloves · 23/12/2025 17:57

Yes I have a while ago now I think some of ld the scenes with the girl and that man are scary but I do err to caution

Depends on the 13 yo. Robust, yes. Sensitive, no

sickofsixseven · 23/12/2025 18:16

Yes my just turned 14 year old started watching at around 12, its fine. Unless they are particularly sensitive to scary themes

mmmcoffeeandcake · 23/12/2025 18:35

My 13yo watched it all and no problems.
He’d hacked the Netflix but that’s another story- nevertheless I’ve since watched it and feel it’s fine.

MaarvaCarassi · 23/12/2025 18:41

My sensitive 15 year old has probably just stopped watching it after season 2. We tried the start of season 3, but there was a bit of a gruesome bit, and he also wasn’t enjoying the teen romance aspects.

SatsumaCandlesCloves · 23/12/2025 20:26

She's desperate to watch it but doesnt like things like the gremlins !

She's desperate to watch it but doesnt like things like the gremlins !

If she doesn’t like Gremlins the monsters are significantly scarier.

My eleven year old has just watched it and loves it. I fast forwarded through the bone cracking deaths at the start of series 4 as that freaked me out. But it's certainly not disturbed her.

AutumnLover1989 · 23/12/2025 20:41

My daughter was 11 when she watched for the first time. She's now almost 14 and still loves it 😃

thistimelastweek · 23/12/2025 20:43

Yes but my children were tough as old boots.

Bernadinetta · 23/12/2025 20:45

My 11 year old DD is obsessed

PinkHairbrushClub · 23/12/2025 20:46

Yes. Mine started at 12/13 and still loves it.

Pieceofpurplesky · 23/12/2025 20:49

The vast majority of Year 7s where I work have watched it. A couple of sensitive kids said it was scary. Most of them love it. I would make sure I watched it with him to gauge how he was feeling as the last couple of seasons ramp up the scare level.

Rainbowcat77 · 23/12/2025 21:02

Yes my 13 year old has just got into it, tried at 12 but mutually decided that it wasn’t for him.
watched it again a year later and he was ready for it.

Tumbleweed101 · 23/12/2025 21:07

A 7yo I know has been allowed to watch it.... I was a bit surprised!

I would think an early teenager will be fine to watch it.

Clementine12 · 23/12/2025 21:09

My 13yo DS has just ploughed through the whole lot and loved it. It’s not my kind of thing at all, but I checked with others who had watched it and they thought it was fine.

MysteryNameChange · 23/12/2025 21:11

My 7 year old has watched it and is obsessed with it. I know I'm in the minority for letting him but I sat with him and skipped some stuff. I think he's quite into horror, bit unfortunate for a 7 year old. Subtitles make stuff less scary too.

Firsttimer996 · 23/12/2025 21:12

My almost 8 year old boy has watched it.

Not sensitive to films or programs though , knows they're all actors and watches many action films with blood

Has watched all Harry potters whereas some in in his class have only watched up to number 3 , depends entirely on each child

YouBelongWithMe · 23/12/2025 21:13

Definitely yes

Firsttimer996 · 23/12/2025 21:17

@MysteryNameChange my son is also 7 and a horror/spooky lover!

Pigriver · 23/12/2025 21:17

Friends 7 year olds have seen it. I wouldn't dream of even letting my 10 year old watch it! He has seen harry potter and just started Percy Jackson. He is absolutely not one for horror/threat/peril.

Icouldabeenalawyer · 23/12/2025 21:20

My 13 y/0 started watching it when he was 10, my other child, now 10, started watching it recently and was scared so switched it off. Depends on the kid I’d say x
