When I do a thread again next year, to save confusion I might write turkey with a small 't'.😂

I can get my stuffing balls and pigs out of the freezer Christmas morning can’t I? Or put in oven straight from freezer. No room at the inn (fridge)

It is precisely to avoid this confusion that the international name for the country is now Türkiye, which is what Turkey has always called itself, but we rebranded (though we call a turkey - hindi and India Hindistan so .... ).

Sorry derailed, but now wondering the best time to get my duck breasts out.

I saw the thread and thought something had happened in Turkey,

Seriously.....

Yep. Me too. Or worse, a public announcement about turkeys in general, that they might be diseased or something.

i remember a Christmas card which showed a living turkey in silly clothes, saying “I’m trying to start a ‘mad turkey disease’ scare.”

Mariah emerged very late last night and is slowing softening around the edges.

Ours is in a brew bin brining away.

DH (household cook) has a long timetable writren out.

Reminds me of the Gavin and Stacey Christmas Special.

Remembered this morning to take the leg of lamb out the freezer. It’s currently in the fairly cold conservatory defrosting. Fetched a three bird roast from M&S today so that’s in the fridge. Just praying Morrisons don’t disappoint with my delivery tomorrow and have all the accompaniments in stock, else I’m joining the masses panic buying on Christmas Eve!

BooseysMom · 24/12/2025 21:21

My turkey crown is still in the freezer! I thought it said best cooked from frozen?! Just had a panic attack!!

MoonWoman69 · 24/12/2025 21:45

Well, I'm doing beef this year. My DH bought it from the butchers, came home and plonked it straight in the freezer. I asked him to remember to get it out yesterday morning, as I was away for the weekend and not back while last night. It appears he'd bought half a cow!!! (Which had I known, I could have cut it up before it was frozen!) Came to roast it today and half of it was still frozen! I managed to halve it, got the thawed half and have roasted that piece. Now I have to wait for the rest to defrost and I'll roast it on Boxing Day!
I can't moan, he got a beautiful piece of beef, but what possessed him to shove it in the freezer without showing me it first, like he does with everything else, is beyond me!
I need a Baileys now! Merry Christmas one and all! 🎄🩷

BooseysMom · 24/12/2025 21:48
