How many jobs have you had?

I was filling out an application form which demanded I list all jobs and gaps since leaving school. It took me a while and I wonder if I have had more jobs than most people?

I counted up - 19 including a couple of career breaks and vacation work at uni- and for clarity I am 50. Is this a lot? or fairly typical nowadays?

One Saturday girl, 6 months temping in various , 1 year job, 10 year job, 7 years sahm, 6 year job and current one is 11 years and counting . I’m 54. So 5 plus temping.

14, from 40 years. I’ve counted everything including somewhere I worked for one day.

Im 63, but stopped working for someone else at 43. If you include summer type jobs when at uni then 9, and I’m also lumping in all the freelance publishing jobs together, which ranged from a few days to a few months to semi permanent. After stopping work at 43 after having kids I did flip houses for about three years, and I manage a couple properties now, but I wouldn’t call it a job as such.

I started counting, got to 30, read a post about a cleaning job, realised I've had at least one of those and that there's probably others that I've missed too, so I've given up trying to work it out. 30+ then.

That's probably a little unusual but at the same time surely even the civil service (which I'm guessing this application is for) is vaguely aware of the great casualisation of labour since 1979 so you would think their recruitment would take account of that.

I’ve had 10 including seasonal/temp jobs and five if only counting permanent roles. I’m 36.

I have had 20, counting my temping time as agency rather than each individual place, but I made a career out of temping and contracting for about a decade. It is only the last 4-5 years that I have settled. I am 44.

7 jobs since age of 18. Worked in a bank in uni holidays, a pharmacy for a year straight after uni, 10 years for a large corporation pre kids, a care agency and a catering agency when kids were little, then self employed for over 20 years. Now semi retired, working a few hours a week in a coffee shop - which I love!

Saturday job in a shop was my main job age 14 to 21

One summer between 2nd and 3rd year i attempted to support myself with 5 jobs
Hotel breakfast waitress for about 6 weeks
Receptionist at a car dealership 6 weeks got fired
Bar staff for about 7 months into my final year of uni
One day in a sausage making factory
One week door to door switch your energy supplier. Made not a bean.

Since uni have had 2 different employers in 25 years! So 8 jobs all in.
