Anyone else have this virus with a really painful sore throat?

If so, has anything helped you with the pain? If not, I sympathise.

Had this for 2 weeks so far. Started on one side of the throat, swollen one side which then switched sides and switched back again. GP recommended a throat spray which hasn't helped. Fair enough little that she can do as antibiotics don't help with a virus.

Having been living on hot tea, soup and cold ice lollies! Worse at night and first thing. Currently can't sleep as the pain is keeping awake. So up again drinking yet more tea.

I find it difficult to gargle so can't try the saltwater thing. Stressing and lozenges seem to tickle making it worse. Cough syrup hasn't helped.

I've never had such a sharp painful throat.

Hi All, glad to hear about those that are feeling better and hope everyone improves soon.
I managed to get a few groceries and do a bit of last minute cleaning. Cough still around but only minimal.
Going to step up on looking after myself after Christmas. Already have a fairly healthy diet but need to exercise, sleep more and minimise stress( plus maybe have my B12 levels etc checked) I can't leave myself open to this again.
Anyway, I wish you all a lovely Christmas. Stay well x

NRTFT but I used the Difflam throat rinse stuff that you gargle with. It is incredible! I had lost my voice and honestly the pain was like tonsillitis. I gargled with this once and it cleared it up. I thought it would just anaesthetise my throat for a few hours but it totally got rid of my sore throat… I’d go so far as to say it was miraculous!

I’ve got this now. Feeling miserable. For those who had Covid, what were the other symptoms?
