Butcher substituted my turkey

Okay, so maybe I’m just wanting to rant.

I received a text (yes, a flippin’ text) from the butchers saying my Christmas turkey has been substituted for 12 turkey breast roulades and my collection time will be between 4pm - 5pm on Christmas Eve

I rang them, as firstly I’d booked the 9am collection (and paid £5 for the privilege) and most importantly I don’t want 12 turkey breast…. After much back and forth (and very little apology from them) I asked for a refund which they agreed to, however was told “this most likely won’t be processed until the New Year”

Please tell me what would you have done, DH thinks it’ll be in my bank my Monday, and I know I can go to a supermarket but I’m still really annoyed, I’ve been Googling ways to cook turkey roulades and when you read they’re often really dry… as was half tempted to just accept them

I am probably going to get blasted here,but I am always wary of small traders .I would be very cross and not accept this .I am usually to be found at 6,45 am a couple of days before Christmas in SB getting my turkey!

I will only use small traders I know and trust for an important order-like your Christmas turkey.

@CandyCaneKisses There really is a need to leave a poor review, this is piss poor service.
OP as others have said, there are plenty of turkeys in the supermarkets though you shouldn’t have to fight round one.

* UPDATE *

Thought I would provide an update.

1. I bought two turkey crowns, that had stuffing inside from ALDI & you cooked them in the bags, & they were moist, flavour full & gave me plenty of left overs, I think they were £21 each, and truly one would have done enough for 6 people.

2. The refund was in my account by 1am on the 23/12/25 & included my £5.00 for the delivery slot.,

3. I didn’t leave a bad review, I thought about it but with it being the season of forgiveness, I thought sod it… just live & let go.

4. I’m never hosting again, we’re doing a curry next year
