DD is back from uni and she's asked to watch the whole Friends series together over her holidays.
I honestly haven't watched any of them since the first time round, but the one scene that stuck in my mind is this one...

Ah, loads:

Rachel's "English trifle"
PIVOT
Ross and Monica doing "The Routine"

ClaudiaWrinklemum · 14/12/2025 15:29

Definitely the one where Monica and Chandler go and find Chandler’s dad played by Kathleen Turner, to invite them to their wedding.

Too may to choose! Some of the content hasn’t aged brilliantly, but there really are so many funny, quotable scenes too. And all the classic Chandler lines and quips feel so poignant since Matthew Perry’s passing - I wonder if he knew how talented he was? 😢

Phoebe and Chandler singing Endless Love is so bittersweet 💔

‘Put the mouse back in the house, this is a family establishment’

firstofallimadelight · 14/12/2025 16:28

When they watch the video of Ross gets ready to take Rachel to the prom “he’s her lobster “

It's interesting how many here mentioning David Schwimmer and Ross. I always thought he was a brilliant character and played so well. However at the time he got the least admiration and interest. I was always a Geller fan. Joey to me made no sense, they wouldn't have been friends in real life and I don't really find stupid people funny. Rachel was great but reminded me of a type of girl I didn't like! Chandler and the Gellers were hilarious but somehow managed to be complex and believable characters too. I particularly loved when Monica got stressed over stupid stuff then was totally chilled out over other things. I loved all Ross storylines

I didn’t like the way they Made him divorce guy. Joey and chandler grew up but Ross didn’t until the very end

firstofallimadelight · 14/12/2025 17:00

When Phoebe and Mike are having dinner with mikes parents and it’s awful and he turns round and says “so what do you think?”

firstofallimadelight · 14/12/2025 17:03

And the ad-lib scene from Billy crystal and Robin Williams

firstofallimadelight · 14/12/2025 17:04

And Ben stiller with the HOT COFFEE!!!!

NursieBernard · 14/12/2025 15:17

The one where Rachels dad finds out she is pregnant and goes to Ross' apartment.

I can't believe it's leaving Netflix, I use it to get to sleep every night!

Ah yes and when he looks at phoebe and says "don't tell me she's the father!" 🤣

labtest57 · 14/12/2025 17:37

The routine, and the one where Ross rings the radio station to play a song for Rachel

InNewYorkNoShoes · 14/12/2025 17:39

NYE routine dance.

LaLonza · 14/12/2025 17:39

The one where Bruce Willis is a neat guy and the one where Ross is making fajitas.

grown45 · 14/12/2025 17:41

What was Ross? A lion tamer?

Squirrelsnut · 14/12/2025 17:44

When Ross makes trousers from talcum powder but his legs are sweaty and it turns to paste.😀

pazwaz70 · 14/12/2025 17:45

Unagi!

The apartment losing quiz and when Ross is ‘fine’ comes to mind but really too many to mention. The entire show is just genius and I’m agreeing with every PP’s comments. Also ‘paper, snow, a ghost’ . Earlier ones when Ross moves in. The roommate with the fish. We are going to friends the musical in February. I can’t wait 😆 x

Why would there be a ghost in my fridge? 😁

LittleRedYoshi · 14/12/2025 17:52

Smile, frown, smile, frown…

When Chandler accidentally bonks his head on the filing cabinet draw:

Ah yes. Can't make Fajitas in this house without saying "I'm making Fajitas!" and doing the clicky finger thing Ross does and the high pitched voice.

ImALargeAbsentMindedSpirit · 14/12/2025 18:24

Phoebe teaching Joey guitar.
”you nailed old lady”

and Phoebe laughing at Chris Isaac telling him to pick a more masculine note.

I still can’t believe they are taking off Netflix

Yes @Bobje your daughter better get on the job because Friend's last day on Netflix is 30th December.

The Sun yesterday published a How To Watch Them All Schedule - no idea how I saw this as I don't read the Sun - maybe social media link -but it requires serious commitment and time on your hands.

All the episodes of Friends you need to watch a day before it leaves Netflix

IT’S THE news that no Friends fan wanted to hear – the much-loved sitcom is waving goodbye to Netflix. But before you start to dig out your dusty VHS tapes and your old DVDs of the show…

Ive just remembered another one of my favourites. When Ross and Chandler go on a “romantic” weekend to Vermont and Ross eats too much sugar!

”Check again please!”

Squirrelsnut · 14/12/2025 17:44

When Ross makes trousers from talcum powder but his legs are sweaty and it turns to paste.😀

Probably the funniest of them all. I’ve cried with laughter at that scene so many times

I’m not sure Phoebe would have been anyone’s friend in real life. Joey is sweet and handsome and also lived next door so a more natural friend. Plus Phoebe was actually really mean at times 😆.

One I’ve not seen mentioned yet is the London trip with Joey as a tourist when he stands in the map, buying all the souvenirs and meeting Fergie ‘it’s fergie baby’ 😆
