DD is back from uni and she's asked to watch the whole Friends series together over her holidays.
I honestly haven't watched any of them since the first time round, but the one scene that stuck in my mind is this one...

I thought that wasn’t confirmed yet?

I don't think there has been an official announcement but it's expected to according to what I have read.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 14/12/2025 08:22

Does anyone remember when Phoebe was in hospital to give birth and her doctor was obsessed with Fonzie/Happy Days? It was so ridiculously funny!

BlueandWhitePorcelain · 14/12/2025 08:25

My favourite is Ross and the tanning salon, followed by Joey with the turkey on his head!

Beerlzebub · 14/12/2025 09:40

I might dig out the New Year's Eve one, as it's that time of year, to see Ross and Monica's dance routine 😆

mateusrose678 · 14/12/2025 11:17

The one where Phoebe is an extra in Joey’s tv show. She has to carry a tray of instruments across the room. She is nervous and keeps messing it up. They have to do multiple takes, until she finally gets it right and ruins it by punching the air and says nailed it!

Also Bamboozled “can I play the wicked wango card?”

Chandler listening to a motivational tape to help him stop smoking. “You are a strong independent woman”. He’s seen later walking from the shower with a towel around his chest and a turban.

When Rachel goes out with Bruce Willis.
Ross: You can’t do that it will be awkward
Rachel: No it won’t, it wasn’t awkward when you went out with my sister.
Ross: That’s different.
Rachel :Why?
Ross: Because it will be awkward for me!

Ross’s wedding in London. His parents, “ Sorry we’re late Jack made me ride the Tube. Judy! You can’t tell them stuff like that”

GilmoreGirly86 · 14/12/2025 13:28

Oh so many! One that stands out for me though is the Thanksgiving episode where they found that Monica's parents hate Chandler because Ross blamed him when they caught him smoking pot in college.
"Mom, Dad, Ross smoked pot in college!"
"Monica and Chandler are living together!"
"Ross married Rachel in Vegas and got divorced, AGAIN!"
"I love Jacques Cousteau!"
"I wasn't supposed to put beef in the trifle!"
"I wanna gooooooo!"
"That's a lot of information to get in 30 seconds!"

Also, another Thanksgiving episode where Monica dates Richard's son and her friends all think it's weird so she roasts them all in a matter of seconds: "Fine, judge all you want, but married a lesbian, left a man at the altar, fell in love with a gay ice dancer, threw a girl's wooden leg in the fire, live in a box!"

LOVE Friends, gutted they're taking it off Netflix 😢

Sequinsoneverythingplease · 14/12/2025 13:31

“Pivot!” 😁

And I know everyone says they hate Ross but he was by far the funniest with the best comic timing.

liveforsummer · 14/12/2025 13:36

The apartment losing quiz and when Ross is ‘fine’ comes to mind but really too many to mention. The entire show is just genius and I’m agreeing with every PP’s comments. Also ‘paper, snow, a ghost’ . Earlier ones when Ross moves in. The roommate with the fish. We are going to friends the musical in February. I can’t wait 😆 x

I agree, although he’s probably the least likeable being needy and jealous he’s also so so funny

Nameynamechange123 · 14/12/2025 13:39

When i was watching friends as a teen/young adult the first time around, Ross was my least favourite character, but now that i’ve ‘matured’ I think he is the funniest of them all! My favourites are MY SANDWHICHHHH and Unagi 🤣. Friends will never get old for me!

BuildbyNumbere · 14/12/2025 13:54

The one with Brad Pitt!!! and the I hate Rachel Green club!

Not sure why you’ve felt the need to join the thread then. 😅

There’s always one 🙄

hot2trotter · 14/12/2025 13:57

The one that always has my tears streaming (with laughter) is the one scene in "The One with The Two Parties" (series 2) and they have to get Rachel's dad across the corridor without her mum seeing him. 30 seconds of comedy gold.
And, of course, PIVOT!

BusySittingDown · 14/12/2025 14:01

Ross's spray tan. Chandler: Oh my God, you could do a duet of Ebony and Ivory all by yourself!
And then at the end of the episode when Ross won't answer the door and Chandler says "you've got to let me in, it happened to me too!" So Ross lets him in and Chandler goes "nope! Just wanted to get a picture of this!"

The one where Chandler and Monica say that they'll do homemade Valentine's gifts. They both forget but Chandler pretends to have made her a mixed tape. They're both dancing to it at the end and Janice's voice comes on in the middle of The Way You Look Tonight 🤣. "I love the way you look every night, Chandler. Happy Birthday!" And then starts timelessly singing along.

skyeisthelimit · 14/12/2025 14:04

so many, but absolute favourites:

when Monica tells her parents about her and Richard . There are several funny bits, but I love when Jack walks in with a baseball bat and Ross says "I'll take that dad" Grin and also Monica's line "in the bathroom, right before you felt up mom".

also love the episode "what did I marry into?!" - said by Chandler , the one with the midnight mystery kisser.

I have loved Friends since the beginning and DD is 17 now, and when she discovered it a few years ago, we watched it on a loop for a while because she didn't want to watch anything else

BusySittingDown · 14/12/2025 14:07

Any Thanksgiving episode. The one with the football, the one flashbacks to their worst Thanksgivings, the one where Rachel makes the trifle (Jack Geller: Dream Hunk 🤣) and the one with Brad Pitt.

The one where Phoebe meets Mike's parents.

Phoebe spelling her name to the Soap Opera Digest reporter woman "P as in Phoebe, H as in Heebee, O as in Ohbee, E as in Eebee, B as in Beebee and E as in 'ello mate."

Theawfultruth · 14/12/2025 14:07

Ross and Chandler swapping sex stories: "I SAID SHARE NOT SCARE!"

BusySittingDown · 14/12/2025 14:10

Oh, when Joey sends Chandler to his pervert Tailor.

Your tailor is a VERY BAD MAN!
That's how they do pants! Ross, tell him that's how they do pants.
Yes, yes it is. IN PRISON! What's the matter with you?
Thats not?...Oh. My. God!

chipsandpeas · 14/12/2025 14:11

Pancakeflipper · 13/12/2025 13:13

Joey finding out about Chandler and Monica.

this, it pisses me off so much how they dumbed him down

Love that one, and then later on when you hear Joey on the phone “I’m telling you dad, that’s not how they do pants”

Bobje · 14/12/2025 14:37

Ross is proving pretty popular on this thread now, but I wonder what would've been the general consensus of opinion on him 30 years ago when it first came out!
I was in my early 20s in 1994 and I loved both Ross and Chandler then - they both have great comedic timing and the nuances in their tone when saying something absolutely ordinary was genius. I mean, reading these comments, we're all saying we can just hear them said in their voices!

DD and I have nachos and dips and mint matchmakers so we're all set!

Too may to choose! Some of the content hasn’t aged brilliantly, but there really are so many funny, quotable scenes too. And all the classic Chandler lines and quips feel so poignant since Matthew Perry’s passing - I wonder if he knew how talented he was? 😢

Fiftyandme · 14/12/2025 15:02

The Twinkie in the City

NursieBernard · 14/12/2025 15:17

The one where Rachels dad finds out she is pregnant and goes to Ross' apartment.

I can't believe it's leaving Netflix, I use it to get to sleep every night!

BusySittingDown · 14/12/2025 15:21

It's just such comfort viewing and still makes me laugh out loud.
