It's advent for the Playmobil people in our house...

...and so every day between now and Christmas I'll be bringing you some scenes of what they are getting up to during advent.

Today Marta is helping Matthias put up the Christmas decorations. She puts the last bauble on the tree.

You definitely had the advantage there @OttersMayHaveShifted ! I don't speak German, but have picked up a fair few words of German, mostly from spending too much time on the German Playmobil website when ds was younger! We once did a fire rescue quiz on there in German, and despite the fact that neither of us speak it, managed to get 70%!

Today Kirsten and Iola are going Christmas shopping. The shopping mall has some Christmas decorations up.

Iola is buying presents for all her family. In the sports shop she looks at a tennis racket or her husband Iestyn.

After a discussion with shop assistant Paige, Iola decides to buy the tennis racket. She pays with cash. "We can get this delivered to you, so you don't have to carry it around now." says Paige.

Kirsten and Iola can't resist looking at all the dresses in the fashion shop. There's another lovely Christmas tree here.

Kirsten decides to buy a nice orange scarf. Paulette serves her at the till.

Kirsten pays with contactless.

Iola looks at toys for her children. She likes the look of the boat. "Do you have that in any other colours?" she asks the shop assistant Nina.

"Yes we have it in red an d blue too." says Nina. She brings out the boats for Iola to look at. Iola decides to buy one of each colour. The green one with the snazzy sail for her daughter Mair, the red one for her older son Bryn and the blue one for her younger son Gwyndaf.

It's thirsty work doing all this shopping! Kirsten and Iola stop off at the café, where they place their order at the counter with Leonard.

They enjoy a nice cup of tea, and Leonard brings over a tray of cupcakes.

Aww I love all the Christmas decorations in the shops!

There is a shop selling all sorts of luggage, from purses to suitcases. Iola is looking at purses for her mother in law Branwen.

She chooses a pink one.

She thinks her father in law Berwyn might like a new watch. Shop assistant Carolyn shows her a selection.

She decides on a blue one.

As Kirsten and Iola leave the shop, two men come in.

Those cupcakes look tasty!

While Colin Custardhead distracts Carolyn by asking to look at the bags, Jack Jellyhead steals the watches from the display cabinet!

Iola phones the police, while Kirsten throws her bag at Jack, knocking him over. Meanwhile Colin is trying to do a runner!

But Colin trips over Jack!

Police officers Laura and Leo soon arrive on the scene.

Leo soon has the criminals in handcuffs, while Laura returns the stolen watches to Carolyn.

Laura takes the criminals' grey case for evidence, while Leo takes a statement from Kirsten and Iola.

"Thank you for helping us catch the thieves!" says Leo.
