It's advent for the Playmobil people in our house...

...and so every day between now and Christmas I'll be bringing you some scenes of what they are getting up to during advent.

Today Marta is helping Matthias put up the Christmas decorations. She puts the last bauble on the tree.

Alwyn is going into the shop next. "You stay here with Apollo." he says to Aled.

But as Alwyn goes into the shop, Ludwig comes out and Apollo snaffles his sausages!

Ludwig is very understanding of Apollo's antics! With butcher's prices round here I'd be chasing that dog down the street to reclaim my sausages

"I'm so sorry!" says Alwyn. "I'll buy you some more chipolatas."

Apollo steals the sausages! All's right with the world!

There was a bit of a story about today's scenes. After last year's advent calendar I had a couple of new ideas for this year's one. One was the Christmas tree festival, and the other was the butcher's shop. But I forgot to jot these ideas down. When it came to preparing the scenes I remembered the tree festival, and I knew there was something else I meant to do, but just couldn't think what it was! It was only when I was looking for a dog for Nicklaus to rescue with his snowmobile that I spotted Apollo, and then I remembered!

And for anyone wants to know, I have already been to the butcher's this morning, I was in there at 6.03 and totally avoided having to queue (and there were no sausage-snaffling dogs there either!).

I went to buy my Christmas food shop today - very happy that all 3 shops were quiet and had everything I needed in stock.

@SoMuchToBits I have a feeling that the Playmo community doesn’t listen to Radio 4 and the Carol service from Kings College which always signifies the start of Christmas to me so I think tomorrow could be a huge community carol sing song around the town square Christmas tree. Whatever it is it will be delightful.

Ah, thank you all! I've just got back from the lunchtime concert, which today was a Christmas one by the church choir. Now feeling very festive!

@viques I would imagine that Playmoland would have something similar to the 9 lessons and carols. Anyway, I will be listening while I make my mince pies as usual!

Today the workshop is tidy and all the gifts are ready. Father Christmas gives his elves each a lovely gingerbread heart to thank them for all their hard work.
