What's the best mistake you've made on song lyrics
I'm 40 and just realised I have been singing "and a parsnip in a pear tree"!!
Why did no-one ever correct me on this and how did they keep a straight face? 🤣

I thought exactly the same with ‘You’re so Vain’ and ‘Waterloo’. And I always thought your user name was misheard too!
Also the Eurythmics song someone posted .

I blame all my misheard lyrics on the cheap audio equipment I had years ago.

Freed from desire seems to be a popular one for wrong lyrics haha
All these comments are making me laugh so much, so good having a light-hearted post and having a good giggle

My mum used to think that Glen Campbell was signing about a nine stone cowboy, instead of a rhinestone cowboy.

And a friend was convinced that Neil Diamond was crooning about Reverend Blue Jeans... instead of a girlfriend who was forever in blue jeans.

And for me? Well we all know that sweet dreams are made of cheese...

I thought it was reverand in blue jeans for years.

Street Life was playing and I was happily singing ‘Street Lights’ having never really wondered why anyone would write a song about street lights!

The other day I googled the lyrics of Shaboozy’s Bar Song because “goose-stepping on the table” didn’t round quite right.
I discovered it was two-steppin’ on the table…(which still doesn’t make much sense).

When DD was younger, she told me she didn't like "Rockin' around the Christmas Tree" because it has rude words in it. I was puzzled, so listened closely to the lyrics.
"Later, we'll have some pumpkin pie" is the actual line, but I now prefer the "fucking pie" version. 😂

Shock horror - I guess if you think of what we all thought it was it doesn’t make sense as Waterloo isn’t a person!

That reminds me of Blank Space - apparently it's not 'got a long list of Starbucks lovers'!

That makes me think of the Britney Spears song 'If U Seek Amy', which was very controversial indeed and earned itself a lot of bans!

I've been singing along to Lady Gagas song Tits In The Pillow Shed.
It's catchy!

The opening lyrics to “Bohemian Rhapsody” were misheard by my sister as “Is this real life, is this just Battersea”.

Maroon 5, Sugar. I’m sure the lyric is “Without you I’m soaked in wee” whereas it actually says “…I'm something weak”.

That Prada dance song that was out last year. I always heard the line Raye sings as 'I'm 22 I'm embarrassed I got strippers tits in my face..' and I thought well yeah that's mortifying. But it's actually 'I'm 22 I'm in Paris etc.

In the Rose and Bruno Mars APT song, unfortunately I completely misheard the lyrics in the chorus whilst listening to the radio…thought it was “I’m gonna get off my tits”??? Google tells me it’s actually Apateu and Rosie is a Korean artist
