Have you got snow? How cold is it where you live?

West Yorkshire here.. had a very faint scattering early hours...but by gosh it's flaming freezing..heating came on at 7am and hasn't gone off... even got my fingerless mittens on that l knitted. Yesterday l went to a huge hall/ garden centre/ farm shop/ restaurant/ Christmas shop.. when going outside it was bitter cold.. luckily was plenty to do inside... and had a fabulous time with my oldest school friend who l have known for 56 years and we get together once a month. I crossed over the border from West Yorkshire to South Yorkshire and honestly seemed more colder in South Yorkshire..( Maybe nearer to the Pennines?).

On and off since this afternoon. It’s 4 degrees currently. We have a little plug in heater that we take room to room but mostly just wear lots of layers.

It’s cold in Essex, but haven’t got any snow. Rained a lot this morning, but soon cleared up.

DonewhatIcando · 19/11/2025 18:41

York, snow came down heavy for a while, melted straight away.
I had a 15 min walk to my car after work, literally didn't think I was going to make it, it was freezing and the wind was taking my breath away.
Kept me coat on when I got home, chilled to the bone

We're SW and we had quite a bit of snow falling this morning for about an hour, then it turned to rain and melted it all away. Now it's just absolutely bitter.

Sprig1 · 19/11/2025 18:48

Wiltshire. We had brief, heavy snow flurries this morning. Nothing since. It has been FREEZING all day!

CraftyGin · 19/11/2025 18:49

We had snow between 9am and 10am this morning. Lovely huge flakes and very pretty.

NW Surrey.

Yes and very!

North East - quite high up!

HelpMeGetThrough · 19/11/2025 19:00

I’m in Cornwall and it’s 3 degrees and has hailed, but no snow. Heating has been on for the last 24 hours solid. I’ve got bad Rheumatoid Arthritis, so I need to be warm. Did the gas cost, I’m more important than that at the moment.

CoubousAndTourmaIet · 19/11/2025 19:04

Lancashire, West Pennine moors. Currently -1 and there's snow up on the higher bits of the moor. Our big hairy dog is loving the cold spell, so we're happy for it to last.

AffIt · 19/11/2025 19:04

Beautiful sunny day on the rural west coast of Scotland (about an hour west of Glasgow).

We're literally at sea level - we live beside a loch! - so no snow, but I can see snow on the hills from the window.

Very cold - slightly above freezing at 6pm. Both open fires are lit and the heating is on!

TonTonMacoute · 19/11/2025 19:05

Also in Cornwall, it's the wind-chill factor that is making it feel perishingly cold although it's been about 6 degrees all day. There maybe some snow up on the moor but I'm not bloody well going to have a look.

HelpMeGetThrough · 19/11/2025 19:06

So jealous of every one mentioning Yorkshire. Me and my OH love the place and will move there one day. Dream is to live in the Dales.

Reckon Bodmin will be getting it tonight. They are reckoning St Austell too. I’m too close to the sea to get it I think.

Only 1° here in south Cambs, set to go down to -1° overnight. My electric throw is in use on the sofa, along with snuggly dog.

MatchaMatchaMatcha · 19/11/2025 19:09

Nope no snow. Pretty cold.

Lemonade2011 · 19/11/2025 19:10

It’s 0/-1 here and feeling it, love it but the snow can stay away tbh we are central Scotland, snow on the Ochils so that’s a hint to where we are love this time of year 🥰

Yes, but I’m in Canada and it’s been snowing on and off here since mid-October. Currently -6, with clear blue sky.

Zoopet · 19/11/2025 19:19

Snow/sleet here in North Yorkshire.
Freezing cold!

Chipsahoy · 19/11/2025 19:39

Feels like is -8. I think the wind chill is making things feel so cold today.
We have snow, schools are closed. My dc are currently running around in the dark with torches as it’s snowing. Mad children. We have the log fire going. North east Scotland here.

Edwinstarrihavefaithinyou · 19/11/2025 19:44

3 just now and snowing
But not unexpected for Nov NE Scotland.

Portlypig · 19/11/2025 19:46

Devon. No snow (we’re a couple of miles inland) buts it’s slightly below freezing and there’s a very cold wind. Hoping we get some snow! No doubt it’ll be 12 degrees and raining on Xmas day 😳

StarCourt · 19/11/2025 19:47

2 degrees here i. the Midlands. no snow

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 19/11/2025 19:49

No snow here (Wiltshire) but it’s been very cold today and had some freezing rain earlier in the day

GinkoRebelFoxes · 19/11/2025 21:01

Also Wiltshire. No snow in our bit (it’s a big county) but bitterly cold. I’m currently in bed with my heated throw keeping me warm.
