My dd popped to the pub this afternoon.

My dd has been at her friend's this afternoon. When she got home she informed me that they'd both popped in the local pub for a drink and a packet of crisps. Now I'm sure this was a lovely afternoon for them both and I don't suspect them of any dodgy behaviour, but they are only 12😨!! I am slightly bemused by this as it's ridiculous, but would you say anything to the pub???

@Tiswa yes, you're correct. I just checked the licensing conditions for a pub in town and they have "e) The protection of children from harm No children shall be allowed on the premises unless accompanied by an adult. There shall be designated areas where children are permitted." as a condition. However our village pub (which is much more family-oriented) has no such condition.

that makes sense @Pharazon and all pubs should clearly show the licensing conditions and the OP needs to check.

if it is similar to a coffee shop and it is fine then I can’t see the issue with them going in and having a drink (DD lived at a milkshake shop afterschool in year 7) it is fairly normal thing to do.

if it does have it then it isn’t ok it should be fairly easy to check

@Tiswa yes, I just checked our council website and they have the premises licences and conditions for everything; very easy to search.
