It's time 🎵🎶 well nearly, 2 hours and change until it drops. It should be 10.30.
Its my favourite time of year but as usual I will probably be useless and depend heavily on mumsnetters for help to decipher.

I searched and couldn't find another thread if there's one already up and running ill delete this.

Edited for proper link

I'm still stuck on:

Boat picture
Mug
Seasons books
Calendar
Clock tree
Cat
Paper birds

Any help appreciated!

Paper Birds are a particular type of bird you might find on a pond and are not tame. Two-word title, non-fiction, from the early 90s, very famous.

Sauces/Sources??? Not helped by them not sounding at all similar in my accent.

I'm now shouting 'Sources! Sauces!' at my laptop, to no avail.

Nousernameforme · 13/11/2025 13:53

Paper birds are swans
The mug says a term in a certain game but you need it in another language.
A cat is a witches .....? But only one of them

So i still need
Hair any idea which short list?
The seasonal books
The stars
The tree with clocks i have used all forms of time and tree i can think of
The painting similarly I've used all sorts of sailing sky river combo

For the tree - the tree one is another word play one (I didn't actually get it this way but can see it retrospectively). If you look at the size of it and get that word. You then need to add tree to the end, say that fast and you will almost have the first word of the title. There's on other word and then the word that clocks give you

It's 2 words. You're there with the first one. Second is what it's written in.

Honeypizza · 13/11/2025 13:56

Spent ages on the star one and it's a book I started bloody reading yesterday!

Ahhh! I now have the mug one - thank you! Just stuck now on the seasonal books (edited because I just got the social calendar one with a "say what you see" guess - I haven't read the book).

I have a DPhil in Eng Lit but am just concluding I may be unusually dopey.

It might help if your PhD was in something like computer science!

Well that is irritating. Because it is not what it says it is!

Nousernameforme · 13/11/2025 13:22

Oh I'm so cross at the woman one all that time I thought it was just because I couldn't spell pyjamas

I haven't got this one either. It's separate to the book that it to do with her arm, right?

This is where a little knowledge of website creation is a dangerous thing. Because HTML and css are not what it is - are what is shown on the screen - so try and think of another term a bit like that, even though what's on the laptop screen is not what it actually is 😆

the second word is a generic word for a language you write programs in

13/20 with help from the clues on here.
Just got the board games and kicking myself,
dog was very sneaky, but clever.

I cannot get the clock tree. I have the key word and an almost there response, but I cannot for the life of me get the book.

the lady in her pjs, I'm pretty sure I know the title but it won't accpet it, so I must be wrong. As pp said I thought I was just spelling pjs wrong.

Can't get the social calendar depsite the clues.

Anyone got any clues for the seasons books?

burblish · 13/11/2025 14:10

Any clues for the seasonal books, please? It's the only clue I'm missing and my brain is feeling scrambled! I have one word (what the seasons are put together) but can't think of the title. Is it a new or old book, fiction or non-fiction?

TheBirches · 13/11/2025 14:11

Thank you, all of you, for sauce-related help. You are legends. Now I'm going to go back to wondering about a woman in white pyjamas and the clocks on a miniature tree.

ETA Nothing to do with pyjamas. Grr.

Lady: it's not the type of clothing that matters.

Clocks: what is the present and who is it for?

The garment the woman is wearing is irrelevant. Only the colour is important.

steppemum · 13/11/2025 14:15

Oh got the lady in the chair now, thank you.

I started with the blanket on the arm of the chair.
I thought it was Oranges are not the only Fruit and I personally think that is a better answer!!

dragoncheeselady · 13/11/2025 14:18

I am still missing
The woman
seasonal books
the mug
Books on the table
Clock tree
Calender
the star
and the dog
would appreciate some clues that have not already been said as they are not working for me

MotherOfCatBoy · 13/11/2025 14:18

Just discovered this today! I am on 18/20 thanks to this thread but am stuck on the Calendar and the Mug. Help!

Brummumm · 13/11/2025 14:20

The dog has the name of a character in a famous old book.
The calendar is only showing part of the week.
The woman is dressed all in one colour. Old book too.
