I’ve had all the emotions today.
I cried, laughed, got angry, zoned out, was surprised, and finally decided not to give a shit all in one day.

That sounds like a roller coaster of a day. Mine has gone okay u til I wanted to buy lots of vouchers on line. The bank froze my card each time. The purchase are completely legitimate. And I’ve started decorating.

Why did they freeze it?! I would have lost my rag if that had happened to me today.

Zero patience today.

Was the decorating fun? Which room?

I would genuinely love to know, if you've decided not to give a shit OP, how you actually set about doing that.

I'm sat here stressing over a stupid incident that happened today which is upsetting me no end. And I would dearly love to say I don't give a shit. But the reality is I'll be still up worrying about it in 3 hours time.

It’s because I was buying several vouchers across different shops. It alert fraud squad. I’m on first name terms with them today. Tomorrow is another day. I’m decorating the lounge. Seemed like a good idea when I took the 25 pictures down and pulled the nails out to leave big holes in the wall. Have you got plans for the weekend

For some reason the thread about how many sausages to feed 6 people set me off on a 10 minute crying with laughter fit. I woke DH up so he's grumpy and that made me laugh even more

Funniest thing that happened here today was DH brought a four pack to sit down and watch the football and on his 2nd can realised he had picked up a 0.0% alcohol version of his beer 😂

I temp as an emergency or ad hoc nanny and had a really awful shift today. When I got there the baby was napping so the mum gave me a laundry basket and asked me to match all their unwashed socks. Not the baby’s, their actual adult socks. I refused to do that so she asked if I was willing to vacuum. I said no, I’m here for childcare related duties, if you have none available I will wait until you do or leave. So she went and woke up the baby. I then had to try and comfort a bewildered tired baby while the mum stood two meters away yelling ‘wheels on the bus!!! Sing wheels on the bus!!!’ Poor baby just reaching for their mum the whole time obviously and she said I clearly didn’t have ‘the magic touch’ 🤦🏻‍♀️

Eventually calmed the baby down and had a nice hour or so playing with her when the mum asked me to give her a bath, I did and then went to get her dressed and the mum stood over me explaining that the vest goes on under the pjs and telling me which way round a nappy goes. I’ve got 15 years of nanny experience and had a baby of my own, felt like lobbing the nappy at the mum’s head and doing a runner.

told the agency never to send me there again but also annoyed by the whole thing, such a weird passive aggressive atmosphere and why hire a professional in the first place?!

@Gottocopebymyselfhere’s how I achieved it: I dealt with two government run departments who are supposed to be communicating with each other in order to help my child. Instead of being helpful and supportive, they stuck me in the middle, expected me to do all the work, deal with all the stress, waste my time and not theirs and do their work for them. When it became clear no matter how much time and energy I dedicated to it would actually make a difference, I decided to not give a shit any longer and I feel much better now.
Anyone who tries to make their shit my shit is not worth my time. I’m done. And exhausted. I am leaving the system. I don’t need this crap, lll be dead in a few years.

I've spent most of mine working. Really feeling the pressure at work at the moment. Brief trip to the gym and other than that stressing over where my life is going

It was just me interacting with someone. Not an incident as such. But I felt I didn't say what I wanted to say and I came over as weird.
It's because I have social anxiety it's a big deal for me. It's a black cloud in my head and I just go over and over the incident and feel bad about myself.
I've taken a propranolol. But I'd give anything just to say " I don't give a shit" and actually just to let it go.

I know how you feel. I can still be like that (replaying conversations over and over) but as I’ve got older I genuinely do care much less because life is too short.

Remember that the other person/people involved don’t give a shit as much as you and they have most likely not given it another thought.

I fell asleep after dinner. Not fully asleep, a dozing asleep. I was woken by a phone call at about 9.30 from from my parents apologising for not picking the phone up to my call at 4.15 - absolute non-news. I was happy asleep! Now I’m wide awake and watching shite on YouTube 🤣
