What's for breakfast on this sunny Sunday morning?

I've had my usual yoghurt, mango chunks & chopped nuts, plus latte.

Second breakfast in about two hours' time - will probably involve eggs but not decided yet! 🍳🥓🥑🍅🧀

Just had a pain au chocolat from a local bakery that make the best pastries 😋

I'll have something slightly healthier later, probably some poached eggs on sourdough from aforementioned local bakery

rolandsrat · 02/11/2025 09:48

Greek yoghurt, chia seeds, raspberries and honey. I am about to make my second coffee.

raymanrules · 02/11/2025 09:50

Black pudding sausage barms. I’ve never heard of them before, I don’t normally like black pudding but they were quite nice.
I’m taking my dad some tomato sausages for his breakfast/lunch/tea (he can’t seem to find them anywhere and I managed to get hold of some for him)

I've just googled tomato sausages - to see what's in them! 🍅

I heard something on the radio yesterday about black pudding being healthy despite its image - I've never been brave enough to try it.

After getting soaked dog walking earlier here in Surrey, we’ve just had boiled eggs and toast, a lovely surprise from DH, dog likes boiled eggs as well.

DeanElderberry · 02/11/2025 10:14

Very crisp thin rashers cooked with a slice of bread in the air fryer, so it turned into fried bread, a v small egg scrambled, a bowl of stewed (microwaved) apple, a slice of toast with marmalade, tea. I'm trying to cut down on the tea, so only two mugs. Maybe three.

ForgottenPasswordNewAccount · 02/11/2025 10:15

Barmbrack and coffee

Kitchenbattle · 02/11/2025 10:16

Sourdough toast with grilled banana with honey and cinnamon 🙌❤️

Funderthighs · 02/11/2025 10:17

An almond croissant, baked from frozen in the airfryer. Eaten with a large black coffee. Delicious!

Zodiacrobat · 02/11/2025 10:27

Sourdough bread with peanut butter and banana. Raspberries on the side. A very strong coffee.

DH would usually make Sunday breakfast- sometimes eggs, sometimes pancakes, occasionally he would go get nice pastries from the shop in the next village over if he takes the dog out early, but he is away for work this weekend so I’m having to fend for myself.

Nevertriedcaviar · 02/11/2025 10:29

DH, scrambled egg on toast, and me, soft boiled egg with toast. Our usual breakfast.

DoorOpening · 02/11/2025 10:30

Mm some of these sound delicious!

I had two fried eggs in a pitta with a lot of “lao gan ma” hot sauce. My excuse is that I have a hangover - very rare for me these days!

Greysowhat · 02/11/2025 10:32

Wholemeal crackers with butter and Marmite. Muesli with cinnamon, kefir and honey. Followed by an orange and an apple. More crackers with peanut butter and raspberry jam. I'm stuffed, might skip lunch!

It's delicious and packed with iron. Try it! I think the Irish ones are the best, Rudd's or Clonakilty. Has to have something tomato-y with it. I like ketchup.

Berlinlover · 02/11/2025 10:41

It’s pouring rain here in the west of Ireland and I’m having porridge.

WinterBerry40 · 02/11/2025 10:44

Very plain 2 egg omelette with lots of pepper ( the condiment )

SomethingFun · 02/11/2025 10:44

We’re having eggs royale for brunch as I got some hollandaise sauce in an m and s meal deal yesterday, so I thought I’d be budget conscious and spend another fiver on smoked salmon to go with it 😁

Serenity45 · 02/11/2025 11:35

Home made fruit salad with apple, pear, banana, plums, clementine and a few grapes, sprinkle of granola and mixed through with cherry yoghurt. Pint of water as I don't drink hot drinks. DH had sweet waffles with butter maple syrup and bananas on top and black coffee

DickDewey · 02/11/2025 11:41

It all sounds delicious. I never, ever eat breakfast. But we’re planning to scoff a leftover cheese board for lunch.

Black pudding is high in protein, low carb and contains loads of iron and vitamin B. A lot of the better brands are surprisingly low in fat.

It’s also delicious.

Sadly no black pudding for my breakfast today, but DP’s cooking himself bacon and eggs on toast as we speak and I’ll probably have Greek yogurt and granola in a minute. I’ve been making my own granola lately.

Sourisblanche · 02/11/2025 11:59

American style pancakes with blueberries. Made the batter last night.

Thesteinwaysyouvebeenleadingmeon · 02/11/2025 12:09

DW skinless sausage softie.
I had black pudding sandwich.

TheCurious0range · 02/11/2025 12:10

Planned to have poached eggs, avocado and toast but ended up having crumpets with more butter than is probably reasonable. It's rainy here

@Sourisblanche , please may I know the recipe for the pancakes? Are they fluffy? I’ve tried millions of recipes on search of the type of American pancakes akin to McDonald’s but failed.

Thanks in advance!

These are the best I’ve found, we used to live/work in the US. I’ve been using this recipe, and her other ones for years. I don’t use vinegar, but natural yogurt in the first step and always 1 cup of milk because that portions better for my family (see her recipe notes).
