Simple things that turn you on

I could’ve sworn I saw a thread like this but can’t find it now. NC to protect the guilty (me!).

I’m early 40s and had a hysterectomy after a traumatic birth late last year. Hormones all over the place and sub-zero interest in sex since. Given my age and everything that happened I thought that part of me was quietly retiring.

But the other night we were driving home in the dark, DP at the wheel, sleeves pushed up so I could see his forearms, fresh haircut, calm focus, motorway lights flickering across his face… and suddenly BAM! Libido resurrected. Something about those exposed forearms, or his calm focus. I don’t know, but it did something!

If we hadn’t been on the road, I’d have climbed across the gearstick there and then 😅

Been a horny mess since. I’ve also taken to conspicuously peeking when he does press ups, never been so envious of a floor before 🥵

I’m sure it’ll pass soon, but in the meantime I’m enjoying the feeling while it lasts.

What are your simple/unexpected turn-ons? (Yes, I’m looking for ideas 😂)

There was a thread like this a while ago, I also remember, OP. Forearms came up a lot!

I really enjoy watching dh lift the bikes onto the bike rack on top of the car.

afaloren · 22/10/2025 10:04

When I can’t do something because I’m a bit feeble physically and DH comes along and does it easily. DH is not traditionally masculine in a lot of ways which is fine by me because machismo grosses me out, but is very strong!

Belladog1 · 22/10/2025 10:05

My partner has these amazing lips. He will be talking to me about something boring and I get fascinated by his lips moving and can't stop thinking about them on mine.

He is away a lot, and we chat most evenings on video call .... and he is telling me about his day and what he has been up to, and I can't take my eyes off them. Have no idea what he has just said though 🤔

AIBU to condemn car manufacturers for taking this pleasure away from us by putting silly tv screens, reversing cameras & bleepers in modern cars?

Yanbu. However I need that camera!

My OH doesn’t need it and doesn’t look at it, still reverses the old fashioned look back with arm over passenger seat way. Thank god.

Ormally · 22/10/2025 10:08

A certain accent...originally European but learned English among a team of Irish people and has adopted several quite Irish turns of phrase too.

EatNutellabythespoonful · 22/10/2025 17:03

A hand on my face or in my hair makes me weak at the knees...

I agree with the arms and shoulders too.

Hearing him laugh at something I've said or him making me laugh

Mmmmm off on a lovely little day dream

Ah yes - the stuff trashy novels should be based on.

CalmShaker had the kind of willpower that could make saints weep and sinners repent. In the glow of the supermarket aisle, she ran her fingers along the smooth glass of a jar, feeling the faint click of temptation beneath her touch. One twist - just one - and she could have it. But no. Not here. Not yet.

At the checkout, she moved with deliberate grace, sliding her shopping onto the belt like a slow, teasing dance. The cashier watched, spellbound, as CalmShaker’s lips formed a dangerous little smile. Her hand hovered over the lid of a jar, pausing — and then, with a slow wink that could weaken titanium, she let it pass untouched.

At home, CalmShaker unpacked her shopping with the same deliberate patience that had driven the cashier wild. The kitchen was quiet, save for the rustle of CalmShaker's bags for life and the low hum of her fridge. Her fingers brushed the cool glass of the jar again. Alone now, no fluorescent lights, no watchful eyes - just her and the gleam of the lid. She turned it slowly, savoring the moment, her breath catching as the metal gave a soft, satisfying pop. It was more than a sound. It was release — a reward earned through restraint.

(I admit, Iit is possible I might currently have too much time on my hands.)

Love this ^^
For me, it’s DH getting changed or driving

GroovyChick87 · 22/10/2025 18:14

Recently it's a thirst trap video of my celeb crush in his new film. There's a specific clip of him winking and it has a physical effect on me. With my DH it's watching him in the shower, his bum is my favourite part.

Prestonpope · 22/10/2025 18:21

Admittedly this was years ago… DH was in an am dram panto, playing the baddie. Dressed all in black, talking in a deep voice, lots of stage presence and wearing - eye liner! Love a man with a bit of make up.

almondflake · 23/10/2025 09:25

@AuntyAngelalove that , can’t wait for the next instalment . Maybe choosing a new soap powder ???? 😂

Showerflowers · 23/10/2025 09:42

My dh loves to cook. If he’s perfecting a new recipe he’ll often call me into the kitchen and asks me to taste it. He will be there with a spoonful and cups my chin as he feeds it to me. Turns my knees to jelly everytime lol

I thought it was established fact that the sexiest possible pose for a male human is rolled up sleeves. In a car. Reversing. One arm on the back of the passenger seat.

I can see it.

These new fangled cars with cameras for reversing are putting an end to this pose. I mourn for it

FrenchieLouise · 24/10/2025 22:43

When he wears a long sleeve roll neck with a tee shirt over the top. His arms are so defined. It’s a skiing look but he doesn’t ski so it’s hard to get him to wear it. He just laughs

TheSaltedCaramelPath · 24/10/2025 23:05

CalmShaker · 21/10/2025 14:50

That feeling when you take the top off a new jar and there is a pop, phoar.

…and the even better feeling when men can’t actually open the jar - they hand it (reluctantly) to me, and I can 😃

Zippidydoodah · 24/10/2025 23:17

Forearms, every time. We are also going through a bit of a drought (😆) but it’s starting to slowly lift.

Zippidydoodah · 24/10/2025 23:18

Love the jar porn, by the way! You should write more, @AuntyAngela !

I fear nothing will ever be able to reach the same heights as the thrill of the pop.

😆

whatisforteamum · 25/10/2025 06:21

On a similar note my favourite thing is any man with a thick wrist wearing a big watch or wrist wear preferably both wrists with something on.
Think James Martin.😍

Pricelessadvice · 25/10/2025 07:18

Finding this thread interesting because I’ve never felt anything like that about another person. I’ve always thought there was something wrong with me but I think im probably asexual.
I’ve had relationships purely because I felt I should, rather than because of any attraction.

I

Wow...you shoild write for Bill's and Moon!!!

PermanentTemporary · 25/10/2025 07:33

Watching dp’s hands and wrists as he does something. They could so easily be doing something else 🥰😈

Many thanks @BauhausOfEliott for using ‘gives me the horn’, hadn’t realised but it’s a long time since I saw that anywhere.

Farticus101 · 25/10/2025 07:41

Just imagining a whole load of men reversing their cars unnecessarily to attract women. Dented lamposts everywhere...

For me, it's dark under eye circles for men. The insomniac look. Weirdly, I hate my own so not sure why I like it in men.

Libre2 · 25/10/2025 09:00

My husband is a cellist. When he plays in a concert in all black…that intense concentration.

My DH did it yesterday, I melted 🥵

gemdrop84 · 26/10/2025 07:49

The forearms are a thing for me too op....
When he is driving and concentrating, changing gear.
When he puts his arm over behind my head rest to reverse....
When he carries my shopping bags....
He was using a screwdriver yesterday and had his sleeves rolled up again....cue me watching intently.
I am perimenopausal and not quite sure what is wrong with me but he's loving it 😂
