Temperature inside your home today?

Hello,

I have been feeling a bit cold this morning and checked my indoor temperature gadget and it’s showing as 13.9 degrees. 9 degrees outside according to my weather app.

What’s the temperature in your home today and have you put the heating on?

I’m heading out shortly so not going to bother putting the heating on but if it continues like this later on may have to consider it.

Wow that is cold. Mine is currently 19.1 degrees and I’ve not put the heating on yet, I’m waiting for it to get colder before I need to. My old house was always around 15-16 degrees when the heating wasn’t on and I found that cold.

Moresparecashplease · 18/10/2025 11:24

My living room thermostat is currently saying 15.5 but honestly feels colder than that.

I 've got layers on but my hands are cold.

I won't be putting the heating on- I'm going to get up and do jobs round the house to warm me up. And then I'm going out to a football match where I will probably feel much colder!

DustyMaiden · 18/10/2025 11:24

20 no heating .

NoArmaniNoPunani · 18/10/2025 11:25

Mine says 19.5 but it feels chilly

EndlessDistraction · 18/10/2025 11:26

19 inside (13 outside) and we have the thermostat set at 16 during the day and 18 morning and evening, so it has come on a few mornings but not evenings yet.

BoredZelda · 18/10/2025 11:29

That’s cold. Do you have any insulation at all? My inside temperature is 19.4, outside is 9.8. When I went to bed last night, the indoor temperature was 22.8, the lowest it dipped was 19.4.so there hasn’t been about 3 degrees of heat loss at since then. My bedroom window has been open all night and that room is currently at 17.3. The only time the house dips to 13.9 is in the winter if we’re away and the heating doesn’t go on for a few days.

Littlemissmiss · 18/10/2025 11:36

19 degrees sounds much more comfortable! I definitely noticed it being much cooler this morning which prompted me to check the temperature. It may not be completely accurate.

My home was built in early 1980’s so may not have great insulation. No thermostat either so heating is manually put on or off. I need to work out how to put the timer on for winter months.

A respectable 18.5°c with no heating. I had it on yesterday to dry clothes. It’s a new build so well insulated fortunately. Apparently it’s 12°c outside.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 18/10/2025 14:22

No idea, had the heating on this morning though.

StillFeelingTired · 18/10/2025 14:30

17.5. Victorian 3 storey semi so usually cold. Not put the heating on. We do when it gets to 14 or 15.

mindutopia · 18/10/2025 14:34

15c in one end of the house and 16c the other. We don’t keep a warm house though. I’d say 16c is pretty standard through the winter. If it gets up to 18c, I’m melting.

Mum2twoandacockapoo · 18/10/2025 14:39

ive got my big windows open coz my dog likes to sit and watch the traffic and im wearing a short sleeved T-shirt . It’s definitely mild here today in the Midlands.

TheChosenTwo · 18/10/2025 14:43

20 in the living room where I am at the moment, boiler has been broken for a few weeks and I’m freezing! I’ve been busy all morning in and out doing jobs etc and just home, had some lunch and now lying in my thermals under my electric blanket and have just lit the fire 😂
We have just taken delivery of all the items to install our new air source heat pump though thank Christ, I hate the cold and really feel it. Other people feel fine at 20, I’m more of a ‘25+ and I’m just thawing out’ kind of girl!

Idontknowhatnametochoose · 18/10/2025 14:44

19.5 in my flat. No heating as yet.

Purplecatshopaholic · 18/10/2025 14:46

10 degrees outside. Heating is on and it’s about 23.

thisishowloween · 18/10/2025 14:55

It was 16.2 this morning - heating went on for an hour. It's now 17.9 and feels nice and toasty.

HappiestSleeping · 18/10/2025 14:57

I'm in Hampshire, internal temperature is 18°, patio doors open, and no heating on.

cinnamonbunlover · 18/10/2025 15:01

17 in the kitchen. The front of the house is 1930s facing north and the back is a 70s extension with lots of glass and is much warmer.

The bedrooms are cool but we like it. We have a log burner in the back sitting room so that is on and it’s lovely and cosy. my dog is sat on me and he is huge and toasty. And slightly malodorous

The front all and living room are freezing. But we haven’t renovated the front yet so we don’t use it.

it cost around £10 a day to put the central heating on for 4 hours. We are determined to last until November with no heating but we need to have it in the look after the house and ensure it airs.

EuroTour · 18/10/2025 15:06

20.5° no heating. Next door heats theirs like a sauna so we piggy back off their heat. ILs have had theirs on since sep at 26° I refuse to visit.

DogTiredAllTheTime · 18/10/2025 15:06

15C outside, 20C inside (heating not on yet)

zingally · 18/10/2025 15:10

Once mine falls below 18 I start to feel cold.

It was 17.4 when I got up, but I headed straight outside after breakfast to spend 45 minutes weeding the front garden, then came in and had a coffee, and a soup for lunch shortly afterwards. That kept me warm enough until just now. The heating has just gone on, set to get to 18.5. That'll stay on until about 8pm-ish, when I'll turn it off an hour or so before heading off to bed, as it seems to still be actively heating the house right until the minute I get into a nice warm bed.

The lowest I've ever seen it in this house (have lived here just over a year) was 12C, which was around this time of year actually, when I went away for a week with work.

Bowling4soup · 18/10/2025 15:16

Wow that is cold, not sure how you can have it that low with no heating on.
Ours has been sitting at 18c all day, it dropped down to 17.8 at the lowest I noticed, it has felt cold we’ve all had our oodies on

MakeMineAMilkyTea · 18/10/2025 15:24

Frozen at 16.5 at my parents. Thermals are on. My house usually runs 21 upstairs and 23 with the fire on downstairs

ImSoJulia · 18/10/2025 15:29

22°, heating on. Hampshire, grey skies and 13 outside.

spoonbillstretford · 18/10/2025 15:31

23.5 in the living room. No heating on at the moment.
