Aside from gravy by the jugful and peas?

Does it need anything else with it in your household?
We have cauliflower cheese (made extra yesterday) or mashed potatoes today.
Some days it's just as is.

If I’m eating out, I always tell the waitress that I like some food with my gravy 😂

I am a southerner and can assure you that there’s no weak gravy in this household. Nothing resembling a jus will be touching my TITH or roast dinners.

Peas and gravy

But also, based on a Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall recipe, I put apple slices in the toad in the hole, which goes really well.

Green veg and gravy. No potatoes and definitely not cauliflower cheese, it can't be on the same plate as gravy.

I wouldn't have peas but would have cauliflower, brussels sprouts or broccoli and swede plus probably mashed potato and the gravy must be quite thick.

Toad in the hole is one of my favourite meals, proper comfort food I think.

Toad in the hole and cauliflower cheese sounds very indulgent! - this is such a British thing to say!

We have baked beans (no peas).

Tonight I’ve gone “posh” and had deconstructed toad in the hole 😂

Sausages, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, peas and lots of lovely thick gravy. Perfect for a wet and windy evening.
