Amazon Prime day: what are you buying?

I have my eye on a hairdryer and a CCTV camera, but I would really like a few ideas on something a bit more fun, like skin care or clothing. Any tips? And what are you buying this time round if you're an Amazon shopper?

Nothing particularly exciting! 2 hand luggage suitcases and a travel coffee mug for my husband's birthday. Glad I made a decent savings on both though. Oh and a bulk buy of cat food which of course she'll probably turn her nose up at now there 40 pouches to be eaten!

Ooohhhh. Would you share the link to the luggage plus? I'm always on the lookout for good hand luggage!

Tbh I don't really know what the quality will be like as they're pretty cheap but I'm hoping because it's hand luggage they won't be battered by the luggage handlers and not fall apart too quickly!!

Yes, hand luggage doesn't get the same 'treatment' as checked luggage. I like that it's just one compartment rather than two. So if you need to open it while en route you don't have to find a table or similar to open the 'clam shell'. Nice colours too! Thanks.

I’ve been saving up my Top Cashback and my bank account rewards account for the last couple of years to buy myself an iPad. I realised last night that Amazon have put iPads in the sale and I had enough saved if I bought it now… so it arrives tomorrow. I’m very happy about this!

Hmmmmwineandchocs · 08/10/2025 15:17

Solar lights for a tree in my front garden, nothing exciting.

MidnightMeltdown · 08/10/2025 15:51

I bought GHD Chronos Max which are almost £100 off.

Bit of a splurge, but my current GHDs are 9 years old and the light is a bit dodgy, which makes me think that they are on the way out. Definitely need a back up in case they die when I need them most!

I've noticed the Babyliss Big Hair is on for around £27 which is half it's usual price. Great for giving a decent blow dry if you're not skilled in the hairdressing department.

I have one and I STILL can't style my hair with it!!! But I'm rubbish at styling my hair (it's down to my waist and quite frizzy) so it's definitely user error not the styler!

Remington Keratin Protect Intelligent Hair Straightener. They’re currently 75% off. I’ve also ordered the Babyliss Big Hair, after seeing the previous posters comment!

Govee smart Christmas tree lights 🥰

Whataninterestinglookingpotato · 08/10/2025 20:08

I brought dd some stuff for her Guinea pigs.

I was hoping for an amazing deal on a garmin forerunner watch but nothing could beat the price that I could get from garmin with my blue light card so didn’t get one.

BobbyBrewstersMagicTorch · 08/10/2025 20:13

Nothing. None of it is much cheaper and within a few years, when there's only Amazon to buy from, they'll charge extortionate prices.

So I'm not going down that road, thank you.

Karmatime · 08/10/2025 20:25

I was planning to get a Kindle but they haven’t discounted the basic one that I want. I’ll wait until Black Friday and hope …..

RedRiverShore5 · 08/10/2025 20:54

I'm such a boring old farty pants and have bought what I usually buy on Prime days, dishwasher tablets and stuff like that. I thought Amazon was going to crash tonight it was so slow.

leafbrow · 08/10/2025 20:58

I agree it is kind of crap now, it used to be amazing. I did buy some kitchen bits but the discount wasn't great.

Me too. Jeff Bezos avoids paying his fair share of taxes so that he can rent out the whole of Venice for his wedding, and send his wife on a jolly to space with Katy Perry. No thank you.

Kendodd · 08/10/2025 21:09

Nothing. I also sit on the moral high ground and haven't used Amazon for years.
Sorry for spoil sporting your thread, I can't let an Amazon thread pass without comment though.

Gorbie · 08/10/2025 21:10

Absolutely nothing, I'd much rather spend my money supporting my local high street shops

ladygindiva · 08/10/2025 21:38

Adidas court trainers

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 08/10/2025 21:59

I’ve bought a Shark stick cleaner. I’m sick of lugging around my heavy cylinder Miele.

dftopcat · 08/10/2025 23:06

The cabin size luggage looks great. I like the colour. I've just started with amazon associates and I need to get 3 people to use my links such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0FJ1L8HK7?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image&tag=goodlist0a-21&ascsubtag=mnforum&th=1 I've also made a webpage with current deals
any thoughts? Would be good to hear.
