If he gets the Nobel Peace Prize tomorrow then it becomes utterly worthless. By all means give it to him next year once we've had a chance to see if the Gaza deal holds, but to give him the prize for something that hasn't even been signed, let alone given a chance to be implemented yet, makes a mockery of the whole thing.

I was thinking the same.

If peace is a real thing in a year's time, anyone involved could rightfully be nominated for the Nobel.

But so far this is a ceasefire agreement, not a full peace deal. We have to be optimistic it will happen, but the peace deal details are yet to be hammered out.

In the interests of accuracy, I've just looked into that story about a Charlie Kirk fan running over and killing two girls. It's not clear that it is related to Charlie Kirk.

The accused had allegedly been stalking and threatening one of the girls for months, and bragging about how he'd distributed revenge nudes of another girl.

I can't believe he is even in the running. Even apart from the made up wars he brought to an end, surely we need to see what happens with Israel - Palestine before anyone even thinks of calling it peace?

If they do award it to him, they never need cast another one. They can use all the ones that get returned.

And I wonder how many potential future recipients might turn one down saying "No thanks. I'm good for awards given to fascists right now".
