How tall is your 8 year old?

My 8 year old is 125cm and 27kg. My cousin said he's tiny !!! How does he measure up to others?

DD is 8 next week and 119 cm

My DS is the same height but only 20 kg, he’s definitely on the shorter end of the range of heights in his class but there are a couple of other boys a similar height.

I dont really compare him others so I don't know if he's small or tall or medium lol

I have a tallish one. She's 142cm. But she'll be 9 in three months.

Not sure how much she weighs, but she's proportionate to her height.

Mind you. I was very tall at that age (and stopped growing at around 13yo).

Mine is 125ish and about 23kg. He is small for his age. When I measured him and did his centile he was 25th for height and 11th for weight. Eek. Some of his very good friends at school are well over a head taller.

According to the RCPCH between 119cm and 137cm is average for an 8yo.

25th for height isn't tiny though is it ?

My just turned 9 year old is now 148cm but he has always been SO tall. At 8 he was 140cm. Always been tallest in his class by a mile and stick thin. He's only 28kg now.

He must be very slim. Occasionally I get comments that my son is too skinny but I really don't think he is. He's never had a big appetite though.

No, it's not - but he seems to always be by far the smallest child in any group of children his age. He's also got quite a slight build.

DS is only 6, but he’s 125cm and around 23kg. He’s far from the tallest in his class at school, but when I checked he was around 75th centile for his age.

Mine hasn't been measured in awhile but had been about 145cm and 45kg his dad's 6ft+ in a few yrs he'll be in adults clothes, he's already size 5 for shoes.

My almost-8-year-old is 129cm (he will be 8 in December.)

But in fairness, I’m 5ft11 so I expect him to be tall.

Looking at all these calculators it appears that his final height will be 5 foot 8

Just turned 8, 136cm tall and weighs about 37kg. 98th centile for height & weight.
Looking at the class there's massive variation though- I wouldn't be too concerned. I worry mine is too tall/heavy but there has to be some outliers and there's nothing I can do about it!

DS is 7, 8 in Feb and a giant 142cm! No idea on weight. He has always been tall but is now off the growth chart. Be interesting to see if he stays tall or just gets to final height young. Size 4 feet.

124cm and 3s 4 or nearly 21kg

I wouldn’t say your 8yr is tiny compared to mine as weighs almost a stone more than mine

tho dd is def one of the shortest in her class but not the shortest

My 7.5 year old DD is 132cm and 25kg. She’s the tallest child in her class though. She’s actually not had a growth spurt for a while and I think she’s about to shoot up again.

My just turned 8 year old is 150cm and has size 5.5 feet. She’s way off the charts and significantly taller than the rest of her class but then again, so was I!

Reading this makes me realise how tall me 131cm 6yo is 😅
