DS is 143cm I think. Quite slim, no idea on his weight. He was 10lb 11oz when born! DH is 6’2 and I’m 5’8 so he was also destined to be big I think! He doesn’t turn 9 until April either

Verite1 · 22/09/2025 21:19

133 cm and 26 kilo. She’s pretty tall though.

CatamaranViper · 22/09/2025 21:21

Yeesh. Mine is 150cm, no idea about weight though as we don't have any scales.
I'm 5ft2 and he's only just shorter than me

Well least you know he will be 5/4 or taller 😂

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/09/2025 21:27

Mini blondes is a short arse at 124 compared to 150cm.

LakeGeneva1 · 22/09/2025 21:28

My son is v short for his age but then again, so was his dad at that age - he was a late bloomer at 14 and is now 6' 3".

RedLeggedPartridge · 22/09/2025 21:30

My kids are teens now but were all well above the 99th centile on growth charts.

Isyesterdaytomorrowtoday · 22/09/2025 21:31

Do they not issue the red books any more or was your child not born in the UK? When my DC were born, the midwife gave us a red books to plot their heights and weights in. It had several pages of centile graphs so you could see how your child compared for height and weight with others of the same age. Separate pages for boys and girls and it went up to age 18. That would give you the information you want.
It’s a good guide but children will put on growth spurts at different ages. I measured my 4 DC using the same height stick for all of them. The one who was tallest at age 3 was the smallest at 10. When DS2 was a preschooler, we thought he was going to be massive but at 15 he’s only just overtaken me, his Mum, in height. He had a toddler growth spurt and now a mid teenage one but slow growth in between.

I looked back to when my boy was 8 2 years ago, he was 23kg and 121cm. He was 9th centile for both so fairly small. You can look at WHO growth charts online, if you want to, to find their centiles.

They are all different. He grew 10cm and 7kg in about a year and a half. I would say your son is fairly average given the weight of an "average" 7 year old is 25kg, and your 8 yo is a bit heavier.

EcoCustard · 22/09/2025 22:16

Dc3 measured 127cm tall & weighed 19.1kg in August. She was 8 in July. She is tiny, younger sibling is taller (just & heavier).

CozyCoupe · 22/09/2025 22:23

DD is 8 and half and she's 130cm. I think she's fairly average looking at her class mates, she's definitely not the tallest. She's in age 8-9 clothes. Neither me or her Dad are tall.

Thisiswhatitsoundslike81 · 22/09/2025 22:26

DS is 7.5 and about 127cm (and 24kg), which I think puts him between 50th and 75th centile for height.

However DD is nearly two years older and only 129cm! (25th centile) Unless she goes through a growth spurt soon, I can see him overtaking her.

And they both have exactly the same size feet 😁

I am average height for a female and DH is a couple months of inches below average height so it looks like DS takes after me and DD DH.
