Sorry but is that a snowman on your table, OP? I noticed the face and had to ask. 😄

These are mine just now, Wicked which is a teal green glitter! I love yours, can’t cope with them that long personally but love the pattern and colour. My daughter does her own and often uses the blooming gel, really interesting effects with it.

I love your nails, they would be too long for me but they’re lovely.

Suffragette nails, they are my real nails, just painted, it's the first time I've ever had them done, I usually do them myself, but there's no way I could have got the stripes straight.
It's coming off on Monday as it's been on for a month and it's growing out.

Sorry, no. They're too thick and I'm afraid they're not done well. OK for a bit of fun.
No need for over long nails to make fingers look longer. Paint shorter nails a beige colour and they will look longer.

Not my cup of tea, I think all these patterns look quite juvenile.

They are very thick which surprised me, as I said, it's my first time having them done.
I'm not trying to make my nails look longer though, not sure what makes you think I am?

Your nails look beautiful!

PuzzlesNails · 06/09/2025 14:34

No, but I knew I wouldn't before I even looked at the picture! I really don't like long painted nails, especially fake ones - whatever the choice of colour/style is. Short, healthy, natural is what I like - so I find @freyaparkrun the nicest on the thread so far.

I agree - you do have lovely hands though.

DuckyLuck · 06/09/2025 14:35

Cant wait to have mine redone - no idea why I chose green, I really don’t like it

No, afraid not. Hate ‘done’ nails, they give me the ick.

I think they're cute!

These are my current ones. Normally have stiletto points so these are taking some getting used to

Only because you wear them so long. I always assumed the nail length was to extend fingers.

You must have very strong nails, were you talked in to gel? If so, normal nail polish would look lovely as you don't need the strength.

These look like acrylic or gel or something not nail varnish on your nails

I do have very strong nails.
I wasn't talked into gel, I wanted it so it would last.
I use it myself at home, but with ordinary nail varnish then a gel topcoat.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 06/09/2025 14:44

Yes very lovely! I love my gel nails. Couldn't get on with falsies. But I'm interested in how many nail salons are going to be getting rid of the old stock of nail varnish! After that new ban they have enforced on TPO.

MabelWotsits · 06/09/2025 14:46

Why does the thumb nail look so thick on a lot of nails? I‘m not a fan of that at all. The dark red ones slightly above are v pretty.

BlueberryPancakes17 · 06/09/2025 14:51

I love your nails! Here are mine. Growing out but had them done nearly three weeks ago for a wedding

I forgot about the longevity of gel. I use Rimmel 60 secs top coat and it lasts surprisingly well, no chips. In fact it lasts so long it looses its shine a bit, so I just do another coat.

gingercat02 · 06/09/2025 15:00

I'm not allowed polish at work so only paint them for holidays. I have never had them done professionally but am v jealous of some of these. I couldn't cope with really long nails every day I don't think.
Does the growing out gap not bother you all?

PiggyPigalle · 06/09/2025 15:00

Looses? Loses. I can spell, honestly.

mymblemoomin · 06/09/2025 15:07

@MabelWotsits maybe it’s the angle? You see the thumb from the side but the other nails head on.

@gingercat02 honestly it doesn’t bother me, I stretch mine out for 6 weeks before getting them redone. I think I’m just used to it.

@SnakebitesandSambucas yes that research is pretty scary isn’t it?
