I'm stuck in a traffic jam on the M5, DH is driving, DD needs a wee, DDog is asleep.

I love toast, with butter and really strong marmalade. Whats your favourite toast topping?

Marmite!

Thick sliced bread, actual butter not yellow slime, and marmite.

Actually Gina, you can have some sweets, not too many though and absolutely no toffees.

5, 17, 26, 42, 46,
Lucky stars are 5 & 8

Thanks! Don't like toffees anyway. I'll let you know about the lottery.

Did you manage to go to Saunton Sands during your stay? It's near to Westward Ho. My fav beach in the UK.

Thmssngvwlsrnd · 30/08/2025 17:52

What are you looking forward to most, when you get home?

Probably tea and toast, and her own bed!

@Sortalike i'll send you a cuppa by Hedwig, probably get there faster 😁😁 hope you get home soon. Thank you for the lottery numbers, if I win big I'll share 🎉💐🎉

I have secured a Starbucks thanks to the lovely people at Gordano services.

Everyone has had a wee, so onwards!

Have you passed Weston-super-Mare? (It often gets slow there).

lifeontheroundabout · 30/08/2025 17:48

I was going to ask you if DD had had her wee yet but it felt a little rude to inquire :-)
Now and itchy toe, now that is something that must be addressed!

What is your ETA, OP?
Hope you passed that bread wagon, I can't blame you for being hungry for toast, that would go great with a cuppa, which I am just about to pour myself, would you like a cup too? What would you like in it?

Wees have been had, itchy toe sorted too, however the best sliders ever (hideous in my view) have split so that's caused ructions.

All being well, we'll be home by 8 (she says hoping that is the case)

Strong tea, splash of milk, no sugar please.

No we didn't, but I've heard it is lovely, we're putting it on the list for our next visit.

Getting DD back to school!

I love being somewhere different, but nothing beats your own home, I'm definitely looking forward to getting back to having two bathrooms , DD always wants to go to the toilet when im in the shower.

Definitely do. It's lovely there.

Have a safe journey home. Traffic should get quieter for you once past Bristol and the Cribbs Causeway traffic.

I went shopping at Cribbs Causeway a few years back - was very good as I recall 😊

@Sortalike ah, my favourite junction. It means I'm nearly home.

What tunes are you playing?

OneFootAfterTheOther · 30/08/2025 18:25

Will DS1 cook nutritionally balanced meals when he goes to uni or should i just hand him a pack of vitamin tablets and pray?

OwlsR · 30/08/2025 18:23

DD is watching her tablet and singing (dreadfully) to some K-Pop nonsense.

I suspect dinner will be McDonald's 🙄 but I'll hold my tongue, Healthy sensible eating can resume tomorrow.

oh my love - you've just got to hope for the best, he won't starve. Presumably he can use a kettle, a toaster and the Internet?

Deliveroo, pot noodles and toast is fairly standard for the youth of today.
