Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I've just finished my first cuppa of the day & made myself a coffee to drink while the washer finishes. The kittens have had breakfast and gone back to bed - boy kitten's curled up in the bowl of the cat tree that he's really too big for & girl's gone upstairs, probably on my bed.

I've washed up and tidied round already, then woken dd1 who is just in the shower.

We're off to a gig in Nottingham tonight so going to explore the city a bit more first & visit our favourite pub there 🍹. It's much smaller than last weekend's Fontaines gig. We're meeting one of dd's friends on the train who is also going tonight.

Dd2 didn't want to come to this one or we'd have left later. She'll stay here with dad. He's injured both hands so it'll be a fairly quiet day. She wants to finish the last of the Spanish homework that's been set (lots and lots of listening tasks!) and will probably watch some more of The Rookie - her favourite tv programme.

We're having Wingstop for tea 😋 and they'll probably get a takeaway of some sort.

Late train home for us from Nottingham - hopefully get back into Sheffield in time for our last train from there so that dd's other friend who is coming can get picked up by his dad. If not, it'll be Uber all round to get us back, but we have accounted for spending Uber money this time! Last time was a weeknight & our last train out of Sheffield ob a weeknight leaves as the last train from Nottingham pulls in - we didn't factor in an Uber that night 🙈.

DD and I are off to Greece on Monday, and I have a day of cleaning the house, last minute shopping and packing to do. We’re staying overnight near the airport tomorrow so need to be ready to leave by 2pm tomorrow.

So far I’ve walked the dog, cleaned the kitchen and cleaned the bin site that is my workspace/kitchen table.

Bank holiday weekend, hooray! Today we have to do some house stuff: just put washing away and get another load on, plough through the washing up (the dishwasher’s broken waaaah) and then I think we are going to tackle the wardrobe in the spare room. It’s absolutely chockablock with crap so going to get everything out and sort through it. I quite like doing things like that.

A dog walk and something nice for tea. Possibly lamb kebabs and stuffed mushrooms.

Good morning Lucysmam and others. Enjoy the gig! I have been up for a couple of hours. I've had two coffees and a buttered roll, followed by a cuppa. One wash is done and the second is on.
I'm slowly putting the house together again after getting five rooms painted. What possessed me? It's looking much fresher though. Today I have two deliveries: one from Tesco and one from Next, bringing new table lamps and a lampshade. I will spend today moving furniture back to where it belongs, hanging out washing and (maybe) cleaning windows. Have a good day all

It's my birthday! I have yoga then s doggy meet up, then a drawing workshop, dinner and a concert, yay!

Good morning Lucysmam and all. We got back from holiday early Friday morning so the great unpack will continue. We stayed at a eurocamp so we had to take all bedding and towels so a lot of washing to be done. There are bags everywhere so I’m sure this will keep me busy.
Then I need to head to the shops and think I might cook a roast dinner tonight. If I manage to get through everything I will do some knitting and read more of the second Thursday Murder Club book. Have a great day everyone and enjoy the gigs and birthday celebrations!

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone. I’m eating toast with orange blossom honey & contemplating making a 2nd cuppa( (only drank half of the one I had in bed with DH earlier). Lovely day here. Nothing planned except a top up shop at Asda. Usually go to Tesco but I have a Thunderball prize to claim. Sadly only £10 so I won’t be retiring quite yet! DH only working a couple of hours. I’m looking at a massive pile of dirty dishes & will be unloading/loading the dishwasher after breakfast. There’s a load of washing to hang out. The bathroom is grim - might ask DH to tackle it! DD16 hasn’t emerged yet. I’m going to give her a deadline for shifting her stuff on the landing & balanced on top of the banisters. It’s taking over! Nice easy tea of quarterpounders with cheese, gherkins, mustard etc in toasted brioche buns & cheesy coleslaw. Have a great Saturday all ☀️😎☀️

I plan to get up shortly and have a quick tidy.
Then I’ll be having a scrubby bath as we are heading into London to meet family who are over from the US for cocktails and food.

Also need to fit in dog walk and putting away food shopping delivery.

Good morning all and happy birthday @HangingOver! Am in the bath as usual before heading off to an audiology appointment due to tinnitus in one ear which I thought might be wax, followed by visiting my mum in her nursing home. She hasn’t spoken to me for a month or so but maybe she will today. I’ll take her the last of the sweet peas from the garden. I’m going to make a fresh tomato pasta sauce tonight as we have a truly incredible glut. Dp’s dad grew all the tomato plants and gave them to us not long before he died in the spring, so they feel like his legacy.

im currently hiding from the torrential rain in a bakery and eating a ham and cheese roll, a cappuccino and am eyeing up a pastry for afters!

Im helping a friend move house so will head to hers for box packaging…however we are also both wildly hungover after going for dinner with other friends last night so I’m not entirely sure how much packing will happen!

We’ve just had eggs for breakfast and I’m sitting finishing my coffee while DP watches cooking videos. We’re off to a wedding today so I need to start getting ready in a moment. I think we’ll only know the bride + groom plus one other couple, but it will hopefully be a really lovely day. It’s about an hour’s drive from us but DP has volunteered not to drink so he can drive us back home tonight.

He’s autistic so didn’t want to go so we are goin to have a lazy day but will do housework then an Indian tonite . My daughter moved into her new house Tuesday so it’s been a tiring week . Morning @lucysmam and everyone else. A quiet Saturday for me today, I’ve had an iced coffee and woken DD up to get ready for work. She’ll be out from 12-10pm so I’ve got the house to myself, gonna use the time to do the housework and continue the big declutter. I have 2 people from Facebook coming at 1ish (hopefully) to pick up some of the stuff I’m giving away. After that I’ll go for a run, come back, have a shower and prepare dinner, thinking of doing a lentil Dahl tonight.

Morning {mention:lucysmam}and@lucysmamand all. Dh brought me a coffee to bed this morning. The cat that had been out all night is sleeping on dd's bed. His brother who has been in all night came up for a love and has now gone out and probably won't be seen for hours.

I'm going to make breakfast soon, avocado on sourdough toast with a poached egg. I'm off work this week (🙏) so have got some nice breakfast bits like grapefruit and muffins that I don't normally bother with.

I've got some laundry to sort this morning. I was going to go to the gym but not feeling 100% so think I'll give it a miss. Late afternoon we are heading to an all day gig, Razorlight, Ocean Colour Scene and Jake Bugg amongst others. I'm looking forward to seeing White Lies again who were great supporting the Smashing Pumpkins a couple of weeks ago. I'm planning to make quesadillas before we go to avoid spending on rubbish festival food. DD is back at uni already as she was bored sloping around at home. Ds is off work today and will be pleasing himself.

I'm looking forward to some headspace this week to review my priorities and make some changes. Work has been full on and really unsustainable. I'll finish reading the Let Them theory this weekend as part of my efforts!

I need to turn yesterday's haul of blackberries into syrup today and might go for a dip in the sea if the weather brightens up.

Up early to get DS ready and take him to his club. I’m having breakfast in Wetherspoons as I wasn’t up to eating this. Morning. New tablets are making me queasy.

We had both cats for breakfast this morning which is unusual. My boy cat usually appears at lunchtime for food and to crash out. He roams all summer. DDog was in a lazy mood so DH is sorting him now.

This afternoon plans are painting, cleaning and family over. I’m struggling today with said tablets so hoping it won't be too busy a day.

Thinking something like pizzas for tea nice and easy.

Morning! We’re decluttering downstairs today. I’ve already done the bathroom cabinet, some of the kitchen (the larder and cutlery draw.) We have the kitchen cupboards and lounge left to do.

Then, later on we’re going to watch Double Indemnity and maybe a silent film.

We’re having wok fried greens and rice for dinner (attempting our own Wagamamas)

Good morning everyone. It’s another nice day here today, not boiling but warm enough to have the back doors open.

Dh is at work as usual although he did just pop home for a cup of tea and has gone back out again. Dd18 is just getting ready to leave to get her nails done and dd11 isn’t well this morning. She suffers with acid reflux and has since she was a baby and it’s kicked off royally this morning and she has been sick 4 times. Her friend from dance stayed over last night and we’ve had to get her mum to pick her up early and dd11 has gone back to bed for a couple of hours. I think we can safely say she ate too much rubbish last night and it’s kicked the reflux off. She’s taken an omeprazole so hopefully she’ll be back to normal when she wakes up.

I’ve been up since 7am and have hung two loads of washing out and put a third in the washer and I’ve put the Tesco shop away. I do need to nip to a few different places to collect some orders today (the uniform shop, Next and Asda) but it depends on how dd11 feels when she wakes up as she’ll need to come with me. I can go tomorrow instead if i don’t go today.

At some point today I need to wax my top lip and armpits (fun) and make a lasagne for tea. Again, how dd11 feels when she wakes will shape the evening. If she’s fine she will be going to my sister’s for a sleepover with her cousin and me and dh will be going into town to meet up with friends and have a few drinks. If she’s still not great I’ll stay home with her - dh has offered to but she wants me when she’s ill and I’m a homebody anyway so perfectly happy to stay in if needed and snuggle under a blanket with her and watch a film. Dd18 is going to an 18th birthday party tonight so we won’t see her until the early hours!

I’m on a cruise, I woke up, had tea on the balcony then eggs royale for breakfast. This was followed by a jacuzzi, now I’m having a hot chocolate and scrolling before going on an excursion.

Got out of bed 10 minutes ago now having coffee.
I will spend the day chilling with films.

I've been for my usual run and chat with my friend - GCSE results main topic of conversation this morning. Both our boys did well and are into 6th form so that's been a big relief this week.
We're taking ds2 out for lunch at his favourite place today to celebrate, and hoping to find some suitable brogue type shoes for 6th form.
A quiet evening when we get back. We won't need dinner as such after big lunch, and we were out and had a late night last night so nothing planned apart from chilling on the sofa with some TV.
Ds1 is working, ds2 may go out but even he is a bit burnt out now after a post GCSE summer of non stop socialising.
