If so what was it on

OP posts:
CarpetKnees · 25/07/2025 23:07

In the audience of a couple of programmes (where they scan across the audience)

On the local news, in the back ground.

I was interviewed by local news a couple of years ago, when they were asking a question for their "this will surprise you" section, but I gave the correct answer and they were looking for people to look surprised, so I wasn't shown Grin

I’ve been a talking head on a few documentaries. I can never watch them …

GiveUsACoffee · 25/07/2025 23:20

Yes, plenty of times…especially on the news. I work in Comms

Souredgrapes · 25/07/2025 23:21

Simon Mayo read out my confession on radio 2 in 2013 . Word for word.

ItsFridayIminLoveJS · 25/07/2025 23:23

Yes was 1987 The Time and Place.. weekday mornings at 9.30am..was usually John Stapleton as the presenter.. but the day l was on was Anna Soubery because the topic was Endometriosis.. and l ran a support group at the time in my own City.. so was invited to speak.

MyPithyCat · 25/07/2025 23:29

I agree with the above post about never watching yourself as talking head on a documentary. Must be a weird watch. I guess that must have been about 10/20 years ago or longer. Also a "this will surpise you" section on the local news is a great idea"

I was on Judge Rinder a few years back

NanFlanders · 26/07/2025 00:44

Yes. Eggheads and The Chase. I didn't won but I had a blast!

EmiliaRuusuvuori · 26/07/2025 00:45

I was on a children's tv show when I was about three, we had to play with toys in the background.
When I was twelve I won a competition on Saturday Superstore and my name was read out live on air.

littlemisspickles · 26/07/2025 00:48

Songs of Praise, singing Away on a Manger with my school on a Christmas episode, sadly before video recording was a thing. I stole a program though, so there is proof!

Stumbleine · 26/07/2025 00:51

Yes, several tv programmes (mainly soaps, dramas) and a few films as an extra.

I was on local radio the other week talking about an education issue

Waitingfordoggo · 26/07/2025 00:58

I was on Blue Peter when I was 18. My friend had done her Sixth Form work experience at a media company and somehow managed to get a bunch of us invited on the show to ‘model’ clothes made of recycled materials- something to do with London Fashion Week. We had to come down a catwalk in the clothes (mine was a dress and hat made of tine cans and ring pulls 😂). We got to meet all the presenters as well as a few other TV personalities around the BBC building. More importantly, we met the Blue Peter dog who I think was Bonnie at the time. We were given some giant daffodil props from the set to take home (it was St David’s Day) and we went to a few pubs on the way back to the station with our 6ft daffs and got hammered. It was a great day out! I still have my badge.

Yes, I’ve been interviewed a few times as an expert in my fields - two areas of expertise, not simultaneously.

First area of expertise was in pre-internet days, and I’ve never looked to see if the programmes have since been shoved online.

There are at least a couple from the second field that are online, and I’m quite proud of one of them. I haven’t watched it in ten years, but it’s a useful link for getting consultancy contracts.

Everyontheyseek · 26/07/2025 01:03

I was an expert in a BBC documentary that’s still widely available and I’ve been on Radio 2 and radio 4.

Growlybear83 · 26/07/2025 01:08

I was interviewed on Radio One a few years ago about my experiences with breast screening. The presenter was very nice to me but I was terrified!

wobblyweasel · 26/07/2025 01:26

I didn’t know I was on the TV until my DF telephoned to tell me to put the local news on quickly. There was I with friends, being interviewed whilst at the Cambridge Folk Festival. We were very, very drunk!

ilovesooty · 26/07/2025 01:33

Yes. I've been interviewed on local radio and on Radio 5 and I was the subject of a slot on the local news after I left my last teaching job. It was deliberately scheduled so that my former headteacher was likely to see it as his brother was on in the following slot. I was told he was a bit upset about it. 😁

Loki64 · 26/07/2025 01:35

Yes, I interviewed someone on mtv

Mysticguru · 26/07/2025 05:52

Yes.
Both TV and radio.

ohyesido · 26/07/2025 06:23

I was on Pop Master

DinoLil · 26/07/2025 06:32

Yes, both, loads of times as an 'expert'.

JackJarvisEsq · 26/07/2025 08:39

BBC Scotland and STV studios were local to me as a kid so I’ve been part of audiences of tons of kids shows

lol

ShelfObsessed · 26/07/2025 09:30

I was in the audience for a children’s show once. I inadvertently picked the seat next to where one of the presenters would sit throughout so I spent almost as much time on camera as the presenters. It was excruciating because I hated having my photo taken let alone being on camera and I didn’t know what to do with my face so I looked terrified and incredibly awkward. It was interesting seeing how the show was produced though. I was recognised in a shop the week after it aired which was weird.

I was a 'quote from random person on the street' on the local BBC News once. I was about 21 and had a hangover at the time, and thought I looked dreadful when I saw it. I videoed it and showed it to someone about 10 years later and was then amazed by how youthful and fresh I looked 😫
