Have I tattooed my forehead? (Accidentally!)

With a Stabilo 0.4 fineliner pen. Purple.

I was thinking deep thoughts at my laptop while on a Teams meeting and wielding the only pen I could find close to hand. Something caused me to face palm, forgetting I had the pen in my hand, and I stabbed myself in the forehead with the purple fineliner. It blooming hurt.

This was about a month ago and I’d forgotten about it until today when I asked DD if she try and get rid of a stubborn blackhead on my forehead. It’s not a blackhead, it’s a purple head.

Ive tried squeezing, retinol and those blackhead spot stickers but it’s not budging. Do you think I could get it out with a professional facial, and if so what sort.

Thank you.

OP. I do feel sorry for you but this is also slightly hilarious. Have you looked into laser removal?

CrickityCrickets · 17/07/2025 21:25

Pics or it didn't happen

I have a “tattoo” on my finger.

Years ago, when I was an infant teacher, I was moving around some paintbrushes. One had been put away dirty with black paint that had dried and hardened to a point! The point stabbed me, deposited black stuff, and I still have a black spot on my finger to this day.

In short, yes; it’s possible you are now permanently tattooed!

Sorry, no idea how to help you though.

statetrooperstacey · 17/07/2025 21:34

non idea op but wanted to show you this, I was stabbed on the back of a wrist by a bic biro approx 35 years ago. Maybe lasering might shift your sharpie tat?

Yes! Someone I know was tattooed by a pencil when her brother threw a pencil case at her.

Toodles89 · 17/07/2025 21:38

Have you tried vodka (externally)?

hellosunshineminesagin · 17/07/2025 21:45

Oh my goodness you have made me check my palm and finally after 40 years I think the pencil lead that was deposited in my palm at school has finally begun to break down. It’s barely visible now!

Ukholidaysaregreat · 17/07/2025 21:48

Try vodka internally. So disappointed MN have removed the laughing emoji. Hope the dot will disappear. Have you tried anti bac? Externally!

Omg sorry to derail OP, but have you seen that episode of Dr Pimple Popper where she takes a piece of really old lead out of someone’s hand?

(sorry the link won’t work, you’ll have to search for it)

Smokiejoe · 17/07/2025 21:52

I’ve done this twice! Once, as a child, my friend accidentally stabbed me in the leg with a pencil in class and then as a (dumb) teenager I was giving someone a ‘stick and poke’ tattoo and stabbed my hairline resting my head on my hands. The one on my leg is very faint but there is a black dot in my ginger hairline for the foreseeable. I can honestly say I have a face tattoo though so that’s trendy I guess.

JeannieJo · 17/07/2025 21:55

There was a case on Dr Pimple Popper where someone said they’d had pencil lead embedded in their hand for something like 30 years. Dr PP didn’t really believe it until she cut her hand open and found a fairly substantial sized bit of lead in there. Just make sure a bit of the pen tip hadn’t broken off.

MrsEMR · 17/07/2025 22:02

Try nail polish remover with a q-tip. It works for stray fake tan.

I thought it was the arrow at first 😂

PuceisNotGreenWhoKnew · 17/07/2025 22:37

I have tried internal vodka, but the dot is still there. Internal gin hadn’t removed it either, though by gawd I’ve tried.

I am not sure I can get a photo of my forehead. I’ve just tried and the dot isn’t visible. It’s only 0.4 mm! If I remember tomorrow I’ll ask someone at work if they can do it for me.

I’m a bit worried now, as I sort of thought there’d be a MN solution for such a thing. You know, like Pink Stuff for heads.

Edited

You can’t come on here saying this without posting the video!!!! Phwoar! I love a good pimple popping/splinter removal video!

Off to find the video…

Treewl · 17/07/2025 22:43

Repeat the same thing but in a pen your skin tone, viz top tip!
if none of the home remedies work, maybe see about a laser session?

EightYearOldPrisonTat · 17/07/2025 22:43

That was from when I was 8 years old. I'd used the old school style sharpener to file my pencil down to a perfect point. Then forgot and stabbed myself in the leg pretty much immediately.

It's only been 30 odd years... I'm sure it's bound to go sometime.

have you tried nail varnish remover? If that won’t shift it I think you might well have tattooed yourself.

@statetrooperstaceyit looks like there is something stuck in there…

Sex lube and a fish slice is an old MN go to but I’m not sure it would work on this.

PuceisNotGreenWhoKnew · 18/07/2025 13:32

I’ve never known sex lube and a fish slice NOT work.

I thought I’d posted photos. Maybe they are being moderated? It’s not a sensitive image. It’s my face

Oh OP. Really sorry about this but I think you might indeed have tattooed yourself! Like pp I have a 25 year old "tattoo". It's on my right knee, and I did actually spend quite a lot of time ruthlessly trying to dig it out with tweezers as a kid but it led to nothing.

Noshadelamp · 18/07/2025 13:57

You need something alkaline to remove ink.

Bicarb, ash (eww I know but in the 90s hairdressing we used to use cigarette ash to remove hair dye on the forehead!), pen and ink stain remover etc
