Geese can be right arseholes. They're up there with magpies.

We have deer in one of nature reserves close to me but I've never seen one. Probably because I usually visit with DS2 who couldn't creep up on anyone or anything if he tried. They got bold during the pandemic and started to venture out onto the main roads.

I love magpies and geese. Loyal and fierce. Also very beautiful. Yes arsey but that's me sometimes. x

I've been pranked by our local magpies.

Watching Live Aid on BBC2. Nostalgia fest. The music stands up I think. Also interesting to see the lack of media savvy and the fact you could be a star without being good looking/ripped. Good times.

@cardibach I am too, 40 years , how can that be?

Geese have a longstanding arse reputation; the Greeks and Romans used them to guard houses. They make a very loud noise if displeased

They used to use them to guard a distillery in Scotland.

cardibach · 12/07/2025 19:46

No idea @Karistyleaftea
I’m surely only 25??.

I heard bits of Live Aid from my grandmother's back garden, as she lived about five miles away.

I remember when U2 came on and introduced "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and my dear mum said "That's not very nice is it" 🤣🤣.

She had form. When my sister went ab sailing, my mum asked if she was going to wear a life jacket. God, I love my mum.

I know I was so sad, eldest DS was a baby and he’s 35 in August, hard to watch this and think it was only a few years later 😔

Saucery · 13/07/2025 09:11

I love that DMA told Reform they were, of course, welcome to watch the Gala along with everyone else but not welcome to appear on the official platform as their values do not align.

PickAChew · 13/07/2025 09:48

Quite. They don't invite the lib dem councillors onto the platform, either.

One of our arsehole magpies was trying to take on a young weasel, this morning. It would probably have run into the house had the back doors been open. It eventually found safety under our geraniums. Jackdaws are my corvid of choice.
