Can anyone help me work my debts out. So that I can work out what I need to pay between now and before interest kicks in.

Stop buying any more stuff. That's your first rule. If you can't afford what your buying a bit of juggling won't help you to stop spending. Thd spending is your problem not the repayments. In a nutshell don't spend money you haven't got .

I know i was absolutely fine till I started using catalogue in a silly way . Before I would just use it for something essential like when I needed a cooker. I stuck to that rule for years . Then for no reason at all I started being a prat with it. But yeah I agree .

It potentially is relevant because if this spending was on silly and non-essential items then depending on what they are some could be sold to put the money towards debt.

Add them all up, calculate the number of weeks before they need to be paid and divide the amount owed by the number of weeks and there will be your answer. Now whether you can afford to pay that amount is up to you.

Thats not something im willing to do. I don't want the complication and hassle of doing that. I just want to get it paid of and be done with it.

Putting stuff on market place isn't really complicated though is it?

Its just another thing for me to worry about when I already have alot on my mind. And also I dont want to sell things.

It doesn’t sound like you want help at all. Working out how much to pay is simple. Paying off quicker by selling stuff is a no-brainer!

Youagain2025 · 08/07/2025 16:17

I can't do it like that.

It's the simplest way.

Set up an recurring payment to your account for £90 every week. Easy to keep track of because the payment is the same every week. And set up a single payment on your dates - 13 Oct, 13 Nov, 13 Dec, for the full amount due. Then forget about it.

Or - as you're suggesting, make 4 separate payments of different amounts every week and have no idea how much is left due on the dates. Confusing.

Have you read the thread. People have already helped me and I have said im going to give it a go. Just because you think I should sell things does not mean i have to.

Edited

That's confusing the hell out of me. A couple of people have helped me in a way that I understand it. If I confuse myself I will mess up.

It’s ok to just do one of the plans which you understand, and try your best to make the payment each week. You don’t have to set up other accounts or sell your stuff or anything like that. Good luck, hope it works out. X
