Ever since I was a kid I have walked past this house and along this road and thought that they must be fantastic because of the views. I have always wanted to live in one.

This one is now for sale and the views are fabulous - even has its own tunnel to the beach. But my oh my, the bathrooms. I can’t decide if I love or hate!!

I'd love to know what they're hiding in the beds in photo 26.

Hedgehogs

Gingercar · 05/07/2025 15:42

No, sorry I think they’re awful! My sil had a house very similar (elsewhere). The history was fabulous but it never fell like a cosy house. I do like a period property but a lot older for me.

irregularegular · 05/07/2025 15:45

Wow, amazing house. I actually rather love the bathrooms!

I even love the kitchen, though I wouldn't want it as my own kitchen.

TonTonMacoute · 05/07/2025 15:46

The bathrooms are absolutely perfect for that house, wonderful!

My DGM had a house in Cornwall that was very similar, it was a 1920s time capsule. I spent all my holidays there in the 60s and 70s and loved the place.

irregularegular · 05/07/2025 15:47

Love the floors, fireplaces, stairs, verandah (though it should not be glazed in).
It's a shame the roof is so orange - they seem to have replaced it with inappropriate tiles.

Probably a draughty old thing to live in. But as a thing, it's beautiful.

EasternStandard · 05/07/2025 15:47

It would take a lot of work but it might be worth considering cliff erosion. Could be a risk

Jamesblonde2 · 05/07/2025 15:50

Love them. Still a huge amount to spend in the house though.

Pedallleur · 05/07/2025 13:42

Great view but that's a busy road. Also you would spend 250k modernising the house. I'd want large windows to get the view just to start.

About to say exactly the same

catholicsinspace · 05/07/2025 15:50

Gosh it's horrible. It looks like an old people's care home. No garden either. Sorry, I hate it.

Shetlands · 05/07/2025 15:52

I would love to buy that house! The bathrooms should have a preservation order slapped on them - they're fabulous. It has amazing potential for someone with a flair for interior design and a love of period properties (and deep pockets).

BorneBackCeaselesslyIntoThePas · 05/07/2025 16:12

This is exactly the sort of house I imagine Hercule Poirot exercising his little grey cells in

QuantumPanic · 05/07/2025 16:17

The floors, doors, bathrooms, kitchen, fireplace are all wonderful. Really it's only the furniture and curtains and light fixtures that are meh. What a beautiful house.

Allseeingallknowing · 05/07/2025 15:35

The ceilings must stay, they fit the style of the house. What could you replace them with?
Looks like heating the house could be an issue.

I couldn't live with that awful anaglypta stuff they have put on some of them, it would have to come off and that would mean a shit load of replastering

minnienono · 05/07/2025 16:48

has potential but would need £150k spending on it to just get it into this century, so old fashioned, too many rooms downstairs and terrible bathrooms plus no en-suite

JohnTheRevelator · 05/07/2025 16:51

It's a gorgeous house but a bit too near to the sea for my liking! I've heard too many stories of houses ending up in the sea due to cliff erosion.

NormasArse · 05/07/2025 16:55

It’s absolutely gorgeous! I love how unspoilt it is!!

EmeraldRoulette · 05/07/2025 17:18

Private tunnel to the beach 😍😍😍

I think the ceilings in the principal ground floor rooms are most likely to be original plaster designs rather than wallpaper.

I did notice some of the bedrooms have 'Donkey's Breakfast' wallpaper on the ceilings but you could probably live with it for a while as it's not that obvious.

I've changed my mind about wanting the house - just looked up how stable the rock is and apparently landslides do happen there!

Llandudno rockfall shuts down part of coastal road around Great Orme

A ROCKFALL on the Great Orme has forced the closure of just over a mile of Marine Drive in Llandudno.

Aww it makes me feel a bit sad and nostalgic. Soon there will be no one left who has furniture and possessions like that. The bedspreads! The glass topped dressing table! And indeed the bathrooms.

I know it's a big house with amazing views. But no garden? Isn't it hugely overpriced for Wales?

That’s why I said they suited the style of the house. No way would it be anaglypta!
Had to look up donkey’s breakfast! Imagined yellow vomit!

Sunwarddangledhardens · 05/07/2025 18:44

I’m sure Keith and Marj put in exactly that bath in their Pwllheli chapel conversion. Gorgeous to see it as intended. Not often you come across something so untouched .

Allseeingallknowing · 05/07/2025 15:36

Yes! Let a film company do it up, then, when they’ve finished with it, buy it!

No! in that case buy it first so then you get the leasing money from the studio - with an extra end charge for you having ‘to now put it back to the original 80s decor you prefer’ 🤭 and then voila it’s yours all beautifully updated and with the leasing money cost you a lot less than what you paid! Don’t plan to buy it after as likely the cost would then be higher with the beautified interior! 😅

Ariela · 05/07/2025 19:10

On of our neighbours has an Art Deco house with similarly fantastic bathrooms. Two had been modernised in the 1970s, but he's sourced original sanitaryware and tiles to restore..

Yeah I said that. Lovely place, but very very overpriced for North Wales IMO.
