Ever since I was a kid I have walked past this house and along this road and thought that they must be fantastic because of the views. I have always wanted to live in one.

This one is now for sale and the views are fabulous - even has its own tunnel to the beach. But my oh my, the bathrooms. I can’t decide if I love or hate!!

No thanks. It reminds me of my childhood home far too much. And while I bet it is glorious in the sunshine, it would be miserable in the winter.

Ukholidaysaregreat · 05/07/2025 14:23

Wow! Fabulous! I came on here to say just like The Shining and someone up thread has already said it. Haha. Love the bathrooms and the staircase and the huge curved window.

DappledThings · 05/07/2025 14:25

Love it. Needs a bit of modernising but not too much. The bathrooms are amazing.

lobeydosser · 05/07/2025 14:29

The estate agent is clearly very excited to be marketing it. Although given how close the cliff wall is to the back of the house I think I'd be a bit apprehensive before proclaiming..."it is in good structural and decorative repair." Bit of a hostage to fortune with tonnes of rock just behind😮
Agree though - fabulous bathrooms and a load of dosh to do it up!

Nonbio46 · 05/07/2025 14:29

Those bathroom suites 😍. I think white everything is so boring. ☹️

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 05/07/2025 14:38

I agree @Pieceofpurplesky it's gorgeous! 😍 Dated and old fashioned inside, but that appeals to me. Such a lovely view and a lovely location. (Don't like the kitchen though...)

But.

I think it's overpriced quite considerably... Llandudno is lovely, and a desirable place to live. But it's North Wales. Whilst I think North Wales is lovely (as is Mid and South Wales,) the property prices are usually quite low, because as gorgeous as Wales is, there isn't much there other than the beauty and landscape etc....

In North/West Wales where Llandudno is, it's a quite a long way to anywhere, for like career opportunities, arenas and concert venues, commerce, lots of major shops etc... So I wouldn't want to pay any more than £500,000 for this.

The ceilings, omg the ceilings! I would keep the bathrooms but the ceilings would have to go.

Actually I wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole because I would be too scared of a landslide sweeping me into the sea!

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 05/07/2025 14:43

I'm sure I've seen green tiles like that on a TV show - might have been Chateau DIY and they are glass. Amazing art deco bathrooms. The bones of that house look great. The kitchen is dreadful - last updated in the 1960s.

Rowgtfc72 · 05/07/2025 14:52

I'd love to know what they're hiding in the beds in photo 26.

NeilDiamondsBlowDry · 05/07/2025 14:00

green one is like the haunted bathroom in the shining

Very!

I’d feel bad getting rid though, proper period pieces. I like the floor and the marble sink.

@InWithThePlums @Ukholidaysaregreat

What a bathroom!!
NeilDiamondsBlowDry · 05/07/2025 15:13

@InWithThePlums they would all have to go to a salvager !

ohtowinthelottery · 05/07/2025 15:20

Sadly, someone with more money than sense will probably buy it, knock it down and build some tasteless modern monstrosity in its place!

I lived in the area for the first 24 years of my life and the last time I visited and walked around Marine Drive looking down onto 'millionaire's row' I couldn't believe the change in it.

It is certainly a house where time has stood still for quite a number of years!

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 05/07/2025 15:20

I hope whoever buys it doesn't refurbish all the character out of it. Done sympathetically, it could be stunning. If the bathroom fittings do end up at a salvage yard (which would be a crime), they'll go for a small fortune.

notacooldad · 05/07/2025 15:22

Sure, some of the house needs modernising but what a house, that is fabulous.
I used to go to the Great Orme a lot when I was a kid and we lived near Wales.

Allseeingallknowing · 05/07/2025 15:29

I agree with the poster who said the cliff is too close behind the house. Look at the preventative mesh ?Rock falls?
The kitchen is a disappointment, but that can be remedied.
I like the bathrooms, quirky and stylish.
Could be ideal as a film setting for a murder mystery!

Iwiicit · 05/07/2025 15:31

I love it though I wouldn't want to buy it. It could be sympathetically refurbished and used for Agatha Christie films.

The ceilings must stay, they fit the style of the house. What could you replace them with?
Looks like heating the house could be an issue.

LittlleMy · 05/07/2025 15:35

Now that’s my kind of renovation project! 😅

Though if I’m honest I don’t care about the decor, as long as everything works, I’d just be stuck in that amazing lounge looking out at that glorious sea view or sitting outside with a hot cuppa in the winter!

SwedishEdith · 05/07/2025 15:35

This little space would be lovely if got rid of the glass wall. I feel like I should like the bathrooms but I don't.

Love Llandudno but it doesn't look like it'd be easy to nip out for some milk without taking the car.

What a bathroom!!

Edited

Yes! Let a film company do it up, then, when they’ve finished with it, buy it!

Dartmoorcheffy · 05/07/2025 15:38

I love it .

Allseeingallknowing · 05/07/2025 15:38

Wonder what’s hiding in that big attic!

Lemonysnipit · 05/07/2025 15:38

Is it a care home?

OneNewLeader · 05/07/2025 15:40

I’d love to have my own underground tunnel
