Wtf Brad Pitt?! I remember hearing about this but seeing it wrote down in black and white is awful. Those poor kids must’ve been terrified, and to think they was trapped in the sky. Anyone else seen this before ?

So what? This was nearly a decade ago. Who cares?

What a bizarre thing to post.

When everything came out about Jimmy Saville (as an extreme example) and people were shocked and writing about it, would you have said “so what? It was decades ago. Who cares?”

I think he has recently admitted that he had a problem with alcohol and has stopped drinking. He was drinking during that flight.

What is described is appalling. At that time he was disgraceful.

But do you think alcoholism is a disease? If not then sure, he should suffer consequences for what he did forever more.

But if you do think it is a disease, now he is in remission/ recovering shouldn’t what happened that day be viewed with the forgiveness we have for people who do appalling things during a mental health crisis?

Many very drunk people do no do this

Do you think men who have alcoholic crises and are violent, miraculously stop being violent when they stop drinking? And that the women they are violent towards should just shrug and forgive? On tenterhooks for the rest of their lives? He is a violent man!

He clearly tried to financially abuse her as well. He terrorised their children. If he doesn't drink now, and has learned to calm his violence and abuse, then good for him, but his family live with the memories and they are dealing with the possibility of relapses.

Im sure this was years ago.

Sadly, people hate Angelina Jolie so much that they didn't believe it or believed Jolie and her kids 'deserved it' hence the lack of outrage.

I agree with this. As far as I recall when it first came out the police/FBI interviewed the plane crew and they all told the same story 🤷🏻‍♀️

SemperIdem · 04/07/2025 11:16

I think part of the reason this was kept from being headline news is as much to do with AJ’s PR team as it is BP’s.

She’s well versed in being vilified in the press, she knows that Brad Pitts good looks and public persona would cushion him enormously whilst she would heavily publicly criticised. She wanted to protect her children from that as much as possible, I think.

I couldn’t care less if he is “working on himself” or whatever now. Some things can’t be undone and no matter how much “rehabilitation” is done, you can’t proclaim yourself a good person after doing them..

Finteq · 04/07/2025 11:23

I knew there had been an incident on a plane but obviously didn't know the extent of it.

Well he's obviously a scumbag, and I think if this information was more well known he wouldn't still be appearing in as many movies.

ClosetBasketCase · 04/07/2025 11:33

I'd hardly call the source material from a valid source - neither redit nor the vulture are particularly outstanding paragons of journalistic integrity....

Besides which - Key word in all of that - "alleged" - there was never any proof. Wether he did or not, is realy Immaterial- they divorced and both got on with their lives and careers.

Thanks. Pretty damning.

CalicoPusscat · 04/07/2025 12:08

It was a very muddled story in the press.

Lurkingandlearning · 04/07/2025 16:12

@Myrobalanna very true. And some do much worse.

I tried to word my post impartially because I hoped to hear people’s thoughts on whether they believed alcoholism is a disease or not. This is something I wonder about from time to time. I’m really not sure it is.

@2024onwardsandup I don’t think victims of violence should shrug off what happened to them. I don’t believe they can. Being assaulted changes us forever to some extent. Those poor children may well feel fearful around anyone drinking forever. And if so, that was inflicted on them by their father.

I don’t think there is anything miraculous about violent alcoholics stopping their violence when they stop drinking. Assuming they were not violent without drinking, It’s cause and effect. And they know that.

This is where my thoughts get tangled about whether alcoholism is a disease or not. There are diseases that make people violent, but those people have no choice about contracting those diseases and have no personal control over their disease. Whereas drinking is a choice. The first time someone behaves badly because of alcohol they can choose not to drink again. They have personal control. Unless it’s a disease and they don’t.

Do you think it’s a disease?

Wow! Poor Angelina and the kids, why is this just coming out now??

It's not, I read that years ago.

heroinechic · 03/07/2025 17:16

Why can’t people read that?

I’ve got great eye sight and couldn’t read that

Rosepalmaviolets · 04/07/2025 17:09

Awful op

“Wether he did or not, is realy Immaterial- they divorced and both got on with their lives and careers.”

What bizarre, revolting comment. So it’s immaterial that his children witnessed this? 🤮
