Good Morning Everyone! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. The kittens are off sleeping again after breakfast. I've got the washer going for dd2's uniform - the only load of the day I think 🥳.

Plan for today is to pack the moving boxes we have, hose down the few plastic boxes that have lived outside, and pack those too. There aren't many so it won't take long. There are more crates in the loft someone will have to go up for so we can continue packing in them through the week.

Once that's done, I'll spend a few hours painting the next peg dolls for work - Zog and The Day The Crayons Quit, this time. I've brought some laminating home to do too, rather than waiting for the single laminator at work during break when everyone & their nan wants it 🙄.

Dd2 wants to do her homework and revise for her upcoming Chemistry and Spanish GCSE mocks. She might join me down here to do it, she does quite like to spread out while she's working.

Dd1 will probably have a very lazy day - she finished her A Levels yesterday & is going out out tonight with her college friends.

I have no idea what's for tea - we need a shop but I don't want to do one a week before moving & cart it all there 🤷‍♀️.

Later on, it'll be chill for an hour with my book, before heading to bed. I might look for a small gift for my colleagues, to celebrate the end of the year, but other than that, very
much a nothingy evening.

Been sat out in the garden, had a cup of tea listening to the birds and a bee on my lavender. Enjoying the peace and quiet, until all I hear from ndn Alexa play such and such 😡. Hoping to get some rain as it's very overcast.

Were going to buy some school uniform bits today in the hope the shopping mall has air con due to rain in Yorkshire later which I'm excited about tempted to go lie outside in it 😆
Think we might have some food at Bella Italia later as they've a good promotion on.

Good morning Lucysmam and others. Have you found a new place yet? I've been up since six so two washes are out on the whirly already. I've swept the patio/terrace too. The squirrels were digging and making a mess. I've had two coffees and a croissant then a cuppa with a slice of toast. I've done the dishes from last night - lazy me!
I have no plans for later. I'm still recuperating from eye surgery so can't bend to weed. It's 19° at the moment but very cloudy and thunder is forecast later. I'll probably read and watch tv. Chicken and leek pie for dinner. Have a good day all

Currently in the garden on a second cuppa. First wash on and then I will not be moving at all for most of the day!

My eldest DS has just left to go to Ascot, absolutely my idea of hell!

Summoning up the enthusiasm to empty the car of day to day crap, so I can fill it with garden crap to take to the tip.

Still very hot where we are. DD (8mo) only woke up about 9.45 - I sleep with her so I’m only just up too!

Lots to do around the house and garden this weekend - we’re also out for lunch with local friends today.

Good morning @lucysmam . I wondered where you were this morning!

I didn't get to sleep until around 2am so I didn't get up at 9am a s I should have done. Just about to get dressed now.

I managed to get some of our pillows washed and dried during the week and was hoping to do more today, but it is cloudy and we have just had a rain shower so that won't be happening.

The only thing planned for today is to take the cat to the vet later this morning, for her pre-prescription check. She is now really really thin, but she is still eating and drinking well and enjoys her little routines. She spends most of the day curled up on a mat under the kitchen table, or under the dining table in our conservatory dining room. At around 12.30 she expects her lunch, and at 4.30 she expects her tea (this is when she has her medication) and in the evening she comes to lie on the rug in the sitting room near us, or occasionally on the sofa with us, and at 8.30 she comes to be groomed, after which she expects us to switch the telly off and go to bed, so she can have her last meal of the day. Sometimes she has to wait. We know she has thyroid problems, but she is now about 18 years old and has arthritis, so our main concern is to keep that pain under control.

I may also make myself some more bath salts this morning. I finished the last of them last night.

Up early and out with the dog for a long walk before it gets hot, hot, hot. I am now sitting in kitchen and have just finished a Rowntrees Water Melon ice cream / lolly, and bloody lovely it was too. Just going to have a lazy chill out day and walk the dog again later.

@FayKnights apparently I had a lie in this morning - most unlike me but has been a tiring/stressful week.

For those asking - we viewed a house on Tuesday & are hoping to move in the first week of July. The Estate Agent is happy to push through the paperwork quickly so 🤞 no hitches! It's much nicer than this; has a kitchen big enough for the table, patio doors (will need to cat proof somehow) and space for a dishwasher. The garden needs making pretty but that can be a project to work on.

I am having a chill weekend after a couple of hectic ones.

off to the gym in a mo then brunch in the cafe with DP as I have a free meal voucher to use. then not much more for the rest of the day - maybe a pint in the beer garden of our excellent local.

Just chilling at the moment. DD has gone off with my car, because she needs it after work. I'm going to make a second cuppa in a minute. It's a little overcast right now, so I may strim the back garden. But if the sun comes back out, I'll stay indoors. It will be too hot to work outdoors. I also need to type up the minutes of a meeting for a community group I'm involved with. They're about three quarters done. Should probably think about dinner too.

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone - missed last weekend’s threads as I was phoneless. Really strange without one & made me realise just how much I rely on it. Too much! Still trying to retrieve my E Mails. Luckily everything else was fine. Awake early as pretty achey & it’s quite humid here. Made a cuppa for myself & DH. Had Just Right cereal for breakfast even though I have tummy ache ( think it might be a UTI 😢) Unloaded/loaded dishwasher & put some washing in the machine. It will go on later when there’s more in it. Two of the bunnies have been in for a hop. Both very affectionate today which warms my heart. They’ve had Romaine lettuce & some fennel “ crunchies”. It’s showery & sunny so we’ll see how the weather goes. DH is working some of the day. We’re hoping to go & watch the sunset over the sea for the longest day. No dinner plans yet. We might get KFC. DD16 is angling for Maccies to be delivered at lunchtime. Bro is staying with my folks so I’ll visit at some point or maybe tomorrow. Have a lovely Saturday all.

The day started with an early dog walk to the tarn on the edge of the moors to beat the heat. Stunning as always.

Had my first coffee of the day in the garden. Done some washing & will iron shortly for DS who needs an outfit for work tonight - he has a new restaurant job for the summer (we are also post A levels).

it’s our street’s Great Get Together this afternoon. A neighbour is hosting this year, with cream teas in her garden. Hoping the predicted thunderstorm doesn’t start early. This evening I’ll make chilli for me & DH. Tidying up etc in between but hope to grab an hour to read my book at some point too.

Good morning to u all . Lucysmam I’m thrilled u managed to find a new home so quick . We laid my dad to rest with mam yest morn then had food and drink in his house which is what he wanted . 60 family and friends was a lovely afternoon . I’m about to go Dwn now and help with the clean up and also bring home the left over wine 😂. Off to Morrisons then to get beef as family Dwn for dinner tomorrow as my grandson is 3 so we will have cake and make a huge fuss of him . Have a great and safe day xxx

I was up to greet the sun at aaagh o'clock and then ignobly went back to bed… I am now back to the usual time tea and pills ceremony, followed by laundry.
Then I really have to weed the yard and patio, it's getting like a forest out there.
Later the coven and I are having a circle and hopefully a fire, thunderstorms permitting.
We also have prep for a Handfasting that we are doing tomorrow in a wood.
DH has been getting the dogs out earlier that usual, due to the heat and is going down to the land, with water, beer and a mad hat.

Morning all! Just sitting outside enjoying a coffee. It's very close and grey here so I think big rain is on its way. DH is on call this weekend so it'll be a fairly quiet one. Might drag DS out for a walk and ice cream later and an evening swim if not stormy. Had a late night last night (cinema and beach) then a terrible sleep so I'm knackered. I'm just about to sort the meal plan for the week then we'll go for the big shop. A few other bits and pieces to do. Need go sort out DS's clothes and see what he needs for our holiday in 2 weeks. I'll do some turkish and cross stitch later for fun. Home made kebabs and paratha for dinner go celebrate the solstice. Have a pleasant day, gang.

@lucysmam that's really good news about the house. Fingers crossed it all works out. 20° now here but there's a cool breeze I'm taking advantage of.

I’ve had a headache for a couple of days, do wish it would bugger off. Probably the humidity and heat I guess, despite drinking plenty and staying inside.
I was up at 5 to take the dogs out before it warms up- we got wet! It poured for 5 minutes and, despite standing under a tree, we were soaked. At least it was warm and we dried off quickly.
I did a bit of deadheading and tidying in the garden but it was so uncomfortably muggy - 21° at 7am.
The fan’s on, DH and the dog are snoozing/snoring and it’s beginning to brighten up outside.
I’ve done a couple of hours drawing, just having a coffee and toast with marmalade before carrying on.
Absolutely nothing else planned for today (or tomorrow when it comes to that!)
Butter chicken and chips for dinner, cba to cook really.

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone else! Been up since 6:15 and working out how to fill the hours until taking DS for his first swimming session later. I can remember writing on a previous thread about going pram shopping one weekend and now I have a 9mo hulk! 😅

I met my Saturday running friend earlier than usual to try and avoid the heat - we did a very gentle trot/ walk then had a coffee in her garden.
Nipped to the supermarket in my sweaty running gear on the way back for weekend food, and just had some breakfast.

The only chore today is to take ds2 to buy a shirt for prom, then the plan is to do very little except read my book in the garden under a parasol. I'll be doing a bit of mum taxis too as ds2 is doing to a local music festival this afternoon with his gf then has a possible party tonight. I'm being very tolerant of lift giving since he finished GCSEs this week and we had a family funeral on Tuesday which has shaken him up quite badly, so he really needs to cut loose and have some fun.

Dh and I will be home alone tonight - we've got a no cook tea ('picky bits') , a drink in the garden and the last episode of DeptQ.
