And all my toes look like sausages, attached to the feet sausages.

Anyone else having a lovely time in this heat?!

I wore my lovely new strappy sandals today - by about 4pm they were slicing my feet so that they looked like rising dough.

That sounds like congestive heart disease

Notreallyme27 · 19/06/2025 22:16

Me too. My ankles are enormous. I look like the old Queen Mother.

Just heat and age

If you lie on your bed and put your feet up on the headboard does it help drain them? DS2 was a September baby and I remember doing this almost every night to help with my feet and ankles swelling that summer.

Yup 😆

I am lucky enough to have reached the age of 59, but tbf, ankles have always swollen in the heat!

Mine are more like broad beans, with an attractive lump at each ankle. I’m 45, overheated and quite overweight- I’m hoping it is that causing it, rather than it being a sign of heart disease or something horrific?

It's the heat. This time last week - my feet were feet. Today - my feet are sausages.

That sounds good.

Will also raise my feet above heart level, like I did in pregnancy and a PP suggested.

But not while they're in the bucket 😆

It’s always happened to me in the heat. Love the feeling of taking off tight sandals that fit nicely in the morning

Soonenough · 20/06/2025 19:55

I had this last week walking on a city break . Had to soak feet in coolish water ( ah lovely ) and elevated them on a cushion while sleeping . Think it's also a side effect of not hydrating enough. But then you end up having to pee a lot which isn't great when you are with a group.

Growsomeballswoman · 20/06/2025 20:02

Certain BP medication can also make the swelling much worse

Eastendboysandwestendgirls · 20/06/2025 20:09

Even when it's not hot I've got swollen feet and cankles. Now it's warm they are a bit grotesque. Thankfully wide legged trousers are in.

I have got the most boring blood pressure in the world. Not on medication for anything else either.

I used to have swollen feet in summer until I lost 5 stone now they don't swell any more. I don't take any chances though, I wear well fitting shoes.

I'm three stone down, and WTF so no shoes needed. I wear Birkenstocks, mostly.

Going to have a cool bath now! 🛁

Well done on the weight loss.

Wolmando · 20/06/2025 21:25

This can't be normal can it, I'm 67 and my feet and ankles have never swollen in the heat. They look perfectly normal and it was 30 degrees today
