As far as midterms, yes, I think they will happen. Technically. Whether or not they'll be 'free and fair' is anyone's guess. My assumption is that anything that can be 'rigged' will be. Not rigging machines or what have you, but they've already started replacing election officials and judges with 'loyalists'. We can expect that any Dem victories will, at the very least, be challenged in court by the sore losers and/or the results will be tossed out or overturned for nebulous reasons by election officials. And any likewise protests by the Dem winners upon being denied their victories will be dismissed and lawsuits tossed.
The One Bigly Bullshit Bill, what can I say? It was pretty much a foregone conclusion as is pretty much everything he wants. You know that thing where you're running down a hill and all of a sudden you realize you're out of control and can't stop? Yeah, that's us right now. So unfortunately we're going to have to wait til we get to the bottom of the hill before we can see if we're able to stop successfully with 'healable' injuries or if we'll topple over and crack our heads open and bleed to death.
It appears that DH and I may actually either escape unscathed or benefit a wee bit from the OBBB. If that puts us on the side of the 'haves' instead of the 'have nots', it makes me ashamed to be there.
