They will all live forever with the horror of this bill.
But they won't. Unless some unlikely catastrophe befalls them, nothing in this bill will ever affect any of the legislators who voted for it. They aren't poverty stricken, they don't rely on govt funded healthcare nor do their children get free school meals or nutrition vouchers. They have healthy bank balances and investments. Some are in line for, or have, inherited wealth. They'll probably benefit from tax cuts and get corporate 'donations' for voting for it. They'll sit in the security of their gated communities and shake their heads, wondering why they're being vilified.
None of them give a flying fuck about the people who will sink even lower into poverty or possibly die as a result of it. After all, it's the poor's fault they're poor. They need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, right?
Or as Scrooge said "Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?" and "If they be like to die, let them do it and decrease the surplus population!"
